Giuliani Gets A Big Boost From Bush
The New York Sun ^ | 5/5/06

Posted on 05/05/2006 6:23:42 AM PDT by areafiftyone

President Bush is lending Rudolph Giuliani some big-money muscle for his potential presidential bid.

When Mr. Giuliani traveled through Iowa on a scouting trip Monday, reporters didn't recognize the woman at his side, Anne Dickerson, who was on her first road trip since discreetly becoming Mr. Giuliani's lead fund-raiser a few weeks ago.

(The hiring of Ms. Dickerson was first reported on The New York Sun Web site yesterday.)

Ms. Dickerson rose to prominence during the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign, when she wrangled Texas-size cash from donors. Sources said the White House signed off on her role as Mr. Giuliani's presidential cashier.

Mr. Giuliani and Ms. Dickerson will be raising money on the road again next week in battleground Michigan and must-win Ohio. Their goal is to raise $200,000 by June 13, when Mr. Giuliani holds a cocktail fund-raiser at the Four Seasons Restaurant in Manhattan. It's the first time America's Mayor has passed the hat since he earned the unofficial title.

We cannot afford to let the Dims have those.

Nor, can we afford to have Bush pick them. We already had to force his hand twice.

Guiliani - Rice versus Hillary - Powell in 2008?

Four great reasons to vote third party.

I wish Rice would run. But alas she's not going to!

Every time I see someone object to Rudy - it's because he is pro-choice, or pro gay rights. Shut up.

And pro gun control, and pro open borders, and, on and on and on...Just your kinda guy...Did you vote for Clinton too???

"Effort by certain malcontents".

Well, you could call it that, I see it as an effort to keep the GOP from blending totally with the opposition.
We are hard enough to distinguish already. RKBA is facing a major threat from the U.N. Last thing we need is a president likely to support their goals. I will not gamble my vote on Rudy.

Oh.........look who showed up........the immigration troll parade.

All irrelevance all the time. Off topic in groups on every thread.

Why you are allowed to get away with this and destroy this forum's ability to discuss issues intelligently, I will never know.

Another RINO approved by G.W.
------
That is why Bush is supporting him. Conservatives are persona non grata at the White House.

You talk about personal freedom . Do you like the fact that Rudy also supports more restrictive gun control ? That also falls under the personal freedom category .
If Rudy is out helping Republicans , more power to him . When it comes to the primaries, i'll just say no to Rudy and no to McPain . They don't respect the Second Amendment and they definately won't get my vote .

It was my impression that this kind of boorish troll behavior was going to be stopped.

Immigration is OFF topic. They are only here to bash President Bush, and not to contribute a single thought to this thread on its topic.

It should not be permitted. This is what's driving GOOD freepers away.

The most important thing the next 5-10 years will be 2-3 more supreme court nominations.

That's my main concern with Rudy - his pro-gay, pro-abortion and other liberal social positions. He would be adding more Ginsbergs, Souters, etc and America cannot afford to have another one. If that happens, turn out the lights, the party's over.

I want a real Republican.

If the RINOs keep kicking sand in the face of their base, they will be setting the foundations for a third political party.

The title is very misleading.

Giuliani is NOT the person I want on the Republican ticket for a multitude of reasons.

He would be strong on defense. Period.

Vote third party?

The last time that happened - Clinton became president - twice!

PS: Anybody but McLaim.

Ok - fair enough let's take these issues:

GUN CONTROL - that's a state issue - not the federal government - when was the last gun law passed by the House and signed into law - and,,,,,, what was wrong with it?

OPEN BORDERS(?) you think Rudy is for open borders - you better read your history - look at this record as a U.S. Attorney...

Did I vote for Clinton - NEVER - and that is not an arguement - that is a personal attack I would expect from a democrat. No need for that comment - I'm not that person.

I couldn't do a worse job than GWB, alone and unarmed(though I wouldn't be unarmed).

You either exaggerate terribly, or you're a liar. Can't say the distinction's particularly important to me, either.
