10-Year-Old Prohibited From Singing Anti-Bush Song

A 10-year-old girl was barred from singing a President George W. Bush-bashing ballad at her elementary school talent show because her principal deemed the song inappropriate and too political.

"Dear Mr. President," performed and co-written by pop star Pink, criticizes Bush for the war in Iraq and policies including his stance on gay rights. Nancy Shoul said her daughter Molly should be lauded for choosing lyrics that are full of substance and that the ban violates her daughter's right to free speech.

"If this was a student singing a pro-administration song, no one would quibble with it," Shoul said Thursday. "The principal is just running scared and doesn't want to upset any parents."

She probably thinks Shakespeare is the guy who invented fishing.

That's just silly. Everyone knows Abu Garcia invented fishing.

It's obvious to anyone with a brain that Nancy was the one who "chose" the song. What 10-year-old would be political on their own?

BS. School is (or used to be) a place to learn. She can exercise her "right to free speech" after hours - get her a frickin' cabbage crate and take her downtown to exercise her right on a streetcorner like the loonies in front of the Alamo used to.

"If this was a student singing a pro-administration song, no one would quibble with it," Shoul said Thursday."

"I kinda doubt that."

Well, we know for starts that had the child sung a pro-Administration song, Mama Shoul would have quibbled.

I had a hunch so I tracked down Pinks, I'm not dead yet

CD cover ( which contains dear Mr. President)

it included the parental advisory label as expected ...

it doesn't seem fit for a 10 year old

What the hell does a 10 year old know about politics? Yeah. Mommy probably complains a lot to her about the "mean old Republicans" like President Bush wanting her to get off welfare and get a job but that doesn't make her "daughter" an expert. "Mom" the Commie should sing Pinko's "song." After all, it was her idea.

Mommy should be proud of herself for raising her daughter to be a miniature version of a Pink and Cindy Sheehan hybrid.I'm sure that every parent wants their daughter to be loud and ignorant when they grow up.

No 10-yo should be singing lyrics like those, especially in a public school forum. I doubt if a 10-yo spends a lot of time on political sites like DU, so all this Bush-sliming about whisky and cocaine and gayness is strictly from the mouth of MOMMY and... whoever mommy lives with.

I'll get a large group of loud singers to stand outside Ms. Shouls home and serenade her for hours on end with pro-Bush ditties. If she protests, I'll claim that she is infringing on their right to free speech.

Everything has limits, and grade schoolers (or high-schoolers) should not have to be subjected to political tirades by other students who have idiots for parents.

This is a typical Liberal rant. Focus on one snippet of weak past and cling to it for dear life.

The woman is quite the nuisance. And she's no poet.
