I find it hard to imagine that anyone who describes themselves as conservative would give Bush a positive rating at this point. I'm right there with him on the WOT but he has been a disaster at home.

Can anyone say "illegal immigration"? We warned W about this, but he chose not to listen. He'll tar Republican candidates with his amnesty approach and they'll lose in droves.

George is doing a great job with the war on terror, EXCEPT here at home.

It's not like Bush and the Republicans can't make a correction, you know. Just like with Miers, all he has to do seal the borders and all is forgiven.

Well, other polls are showing improvement. I refuse to get all upset till I start to see polls in individual races showing changes. As for Bush. Bush has pretty much lived up to what he campaigned on. His viewpoints on immigration legal or other wise were there for everyone to see. As at home. Well the economy is going gangbusters. He is trying to get spending under control(his threats of a veto) he has been pretty consistent on the Court. ON social issues he has pretty much kept his word and made progress. The electorate might be in a nasty mood at times but that is nothing new. Also, 6 years of Bush and we have held the House and Senate. In fact made gains in the Senate that were pretty conservative under his leadership.

Bush has repeatedly burned the base.

I like Bush. I think he's an honest decent man.

Unfortunately, politically, he's turned out like his dad on issues here at home. "No child left behind", senior drug benefits, farm subsidies, growing government much faster than Clinton and rewarding illegal aliens with citizenship. All of which costs hundreds of billions, if not trillions of taxpayer dollars.

Republican Right Abandoning Bush

It is more like Bush and the GOP have abandoned the Republican right and center to out moonbat the Democratic moonbats.

The AP-Ipsos poll also suggests that Democratic voters are far more motivated than Republicans.

The "squeaky wheel" theory at work.....

They seemed more motivated and enthusiastic than the right in 2004, as well. Republicans never get out and protest to the extent of the left because we have jobs, families, and responsibilities. The more giddy the MSM gets over this, the more likely they are to be stunned (once again) at the results in November.

Disheartening news, for sure....but they're always wrong. Like the commercial says: Steely Dan is not one person and we don't get French benefits.

Wow! This is news?

I think that the percentage of FReepers who are standing behind him because he is a Republican and thus "by definition" better than a Democrat is about 50%. The other 50% percent see what we that was the greatest and best opportunity of the last hundred years wasted.

Clinton, as much as I hate the man, was never afraid to use the veto pen. His point was simple "those who love me will love me, those who don't won't be anymore pissed off at me with this veto because they already hate me to the max."

It may be a good thing in GWB's favor that he wants to have all Americans like him. And he has always tried hard to do it that way. But there is no gentle way to conduct radical surgery.

And, God help me, that is what this country needs if we are going to continue as a country.

These MSM polls are about the dumbest crap I've ever seen. First, a Republican just barely right of center (not conservative) is far better than the Democrat libs being touted as the hero of the day and when all tears are dry even the conservatives will go out and vote for the Republican just to keep the lib out if needed.
Second, even the most middle of the road voter will always lean slightly right instead of a cop slugging, dope smoking, cocaine snorting, exhibitionist, child rape protectionist lib.
Third, congressional races are by districts and states, not by a national referendum, and the poll I just recently saw was that 60% of district voters approve of their own representative meaning they just hate the other guy which they couldn't vote against anyway.
Forth, who gives a sh*t about Bush's poll numbers because no one will ever vote for him again.

If anyone wants to make a difference then vote the RINOs out and put a conservative in but in the end if it's between a Rino and Lib I have to go for the Rino. At least with a Rino, Chaffee excluded, you get 30% of what you want but with a Lib you get 3%.

Bush is not running....these same polls that have shown the public general and republicans unhappy with the leadership, also have shown people happy with their own representatives.

They're just unhappy with everyone else. Since this isn't a presidential election....who are they voting out?

Ha anyone bothered to check the WH website lately? The WH is right in line with the conservative agenda on illegal immigration except the "guest worker" part.

I'm with some of the above posters. Everyone needs to take a chill pill who thinks the pubbies are ignoring them.

The House has the bill and they need to work out the details with the Senate.

Let's cut out the bickering and discuss the "guest worker" question.

No one is calling for Amnesty.

The bill proposes a fence and and a new national program to "catch" and track illegals.

I'm starting to wonder if Bush is a secret "Manchurian" candidate of the Dems these days.

Could he be a plant from the DNC from way back just to completely destroy the Repubs?

I can tell you one thing .... he had better not take ONE DAY of vacation till the Nov. election is done. If he takes even one day off at the ranch in Texas this summer it will look like he could care less about the reps/senators running for reelection and the country as a whole.

I may not like everything Bush does, but if the Democrats took over now, I'd be very afraid. These aren't the Democrats of the 60s & 70s, todays Democrats are dangerous!

Being pi$$ed and voting rat are two different things! Foxnews dynamics has a new poll that shows albright's polling firm is cooking with sauce again. The Nation is 50/50 when polled on voting in the midterms, and Bush's approval numbers are rising.

This is leftist drivel to incite fear amongst the only Party that loves America! dims love satan, power, and themselves ONLY!
