Kerry Accuses White House of Intolerance

By MIKE GLOVER, Associated Press Writer 15 minutes ago

Sen. John Kerry accused the Bush administration on Saturday of stirring up a "spirit of intolerance" to suppress dissent over the war in Iraq.

Kerry said the Bush administration is targeting opponents of the Iraq war in much the same way he was attacked for protesting failed policies in Vietnam in the 1970s.

"Dismissing dissent is not only wrong but dangerous when America's leadership is unwilling to admit mistakes, unwilling to engage in honest discussion and unwilling to hold itself accountable for the consequences of decisions made without genuine disclosure or genuine debate," said Kerry, D-Mass.

"Although no one is being jailed today for speaking out against the war in Iraq, the spirit of intolerance for dissent has risen steadily, and the habit of labeling dissenters as unpatriotic has become the common currency of the politicians currently running our country," he said.

Kerry, the Democratic nominee for president in 2004, spoke at Grinnell College. During his visit to Iowa he repeated his call for a deadline for American troops to be pulled out of Iraq by the end of the year.

"The Iraqis have shown they only respond to deadlines," he said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I think you've got to be tough here."

Kerry first drew public attention 35 years ago when, as a decorated Navy veteran, he testified to Congress in opposition to the Vietnam war. Some fellow veterans criticized him then, and his opposition to the war has been a point of controversy throughout his political career.

I never hear anything like this coming from the White House. Although I disagree with John Kerry's lie... isn't he confusing the WH with the American People when he talks on this issue?

He also does not want the other veterans to know how he fudged the medical record to get three Purple Hearts. I work with a Vietnam Vet who was wounded twice in combat (and seriously) and has no Purple Heart. I guess Kerry got his. My co worker hates Kerry with a passion and is mad as hell that a POS has Secret Service protection. He would love to kick his disloyal ass all over Massachucetts and use up his limited vacation time to do it. You can't make this up.

I would love to be one of those "ambush reporters" laying in wait for a Kerry entourage to walk by. It would be live, of course. "Mr. Kerry, what was the last piece of legislation you authored?" or maybe, "Mr. Kerry, which President expunged your less than honorable discharge, was Carter or Clinton?" This one would have him stammering, "What commanding officer in the USN authorized your meeting with North Vietnamese leaders in Paris in 1970?"

He still has not signed the form in question. The exam scores you have been referring to were available during the 2004 campaign. The 180 form would show medical records and also the circumstances (and exact date)of his discharge. These are the items he does not want to disclose.

What happened to "culture of corruption"? Oh, wait; the dems had more "corruption," so they had to stop talking about it.

Yahoo only posts a left bias. So, allow me to do some revisions and correct what they've reported?

Kerry said the Bush administration is targeting opponents of the Iraq war in much the same way he was attacked for protesting failed policies in Vietnam in the 1970s.

The United States of America is targeting opponents of the Iraq war in a much stronger way than leftists were attacked for protesting against American troops and their mission in Vietnam in the 1970s.

"Dismissing dissent is not only wrong but dangerous when America's leadership is unwilling to admit mistakes, unwilling to engage in honest discussion and unwilling to hold itself accountable for the consequences of decisions made without genuine disclosure or genuine debate,"

Dismissing traitors is not only right but critical when America's left is unwilling to admit their agenda, unwilling to engage in honest discussion and unwilling to hold itself accountable for the consequences of decisions made without genuine disclosure or genuine concern for the troops.

"Although no one is being jailed today for speaking out against the war in Iraq, the spirit of intolerance for dissent has risen steadily, and the habit of labeling dissenters as unpatriotic has become the common currency of the politicians currently running our country," he said.

Although a few people are afraid of being jailed today for speaking out regarding classified information, the spirit of intolerance for dissent has risen steadily, and the habit of labeling dissenters as unpatriotic will continue to be the common currency of the Not So Silent Majority.

"The Iraqis have shown they only respond to deadlines," he said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I think you've got to be tough here."

The Iraqis have shown they are a very courageous people and John Kerry has once again shown American a fine example of a dumbass leftist.

Man, they're easy.

Thanks for the pings!

Kerry is talking about himself here, right?

Yes, of course he is. He is unwilling to hold *himself* accountable for the consequences of decisions *he* made with NO disclosure or debate. (He wouldn't know "genuine" if it bit him in the a$$!)

Let's have disclosure and debate on why jFk is still touting Madame Binh's peace proposal from 35 years ago.

Peace Proposal of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Viet Nam, July 1, 1971

1. Regarding the deadline for the total withdrawal of U.S. forces.

The U.S. Government must put an end to its war of aggression in Viet Nam, stop its policy of "Vietnamization" of the war, withdraw from South Viet Nam all troops, military personnel, weapons, and war materials of the United States and of the other foreign countries in the U.S. camp, and dismantle all U.S. bases in South Viet Nam, without posing any condition whatsoever.

The U.S. Government must set a terminal date for the withdrawal from South Viet Nam of the totality of U.S. forces and those of the other foreign countries in the U.S. camps.

I'd say that most of the Left is unpatriotic, and I think that most of the Left should take that as a compliment. If Leftists were intellectually coherent, they would reject the notion of patriotism because it is contrary to international socialism, which is the Left's ultimate objective.

CIA agents who leak secret information without authorization are most certainly unpatriotic. They intentionally undermine the policies of President Bush, and thereby usurping the authority of the citizens that elected him a chief executive and commander in chief of armed forces. Nothing could be more unpatriotic.

But I have never heard Bush or Cheney say that those who agrue against their policies are unpatriotic.

The ONLY person I have heard that has called someone "Unamerican" for an opposing view is his wife - Teresa.

Hillary Clinton has also called political opponents "unamerican".

John Kerry is more than just a common traitor, he is:

JOHN KERRY - ENEMY OF THE STATE

And I thought I was the only one questioning his patriotism.
