It's about time. We should have been calling it that on the morning of 12 September 2001.

Let's see:
It's a war. Check.
It involves every country of the world. Check.
WW3 it is.

Flight 93 crashed on the morning of September 11, 2001, killing the 33 passengers, seven crew members and four hijackers, after passengers stormed the cockpit and battled the hijackers for control of the aircraft.Technically speaking, at least some of the crewmembers were killed during the initial takeover and it is quite likely other crew, passengers and hijackers died during the struggle before the crash.
The way it is worded implies that the the passengers were responsible for the crash. I object. The plane was going to crash anyway. All the heroic passengers did was change the crash site from the Capitol to a pasture.

David Beamer, whose son Todd died in the crash, who in a Wall Street Journal commentary last month called it "our first successful counter-attack in our homeland in this new global war, World War III". I missed this piece. Does anyone have a link to it? thx.

WW3 it is.
No, it's WWIV. WWIII was the Cold War.
To: LSUfan
Seems a little late to be using this terminolgy. I'm not sure if it fits because clearly not many are actively involved involved in this World War effort.

Great rhetoric from the president. Let's hope he comes to the realization that our pourous borders and our south of the border neighbor are an achilles heal in fighting WW III.

The Cold War was fought with a couple of different weapons. The big two were proxy armies and the threat of the use of nuclear weapons. I say it was WW3. We're in World War 4 now.

Around 100 million people were killed in many different ways fighting the cold war, most of them by their own government.

I thought we were supposed to be all hugs and kisses with Islam, we are only waring with some nebulous Al Qaida thingy; how can that be a world war? Maybe he meant war of the worlds? [!!!!!sarcasm!!!!]

I was flipping channels the other day and I saw Madeline not-so-bright saying that people shouldn't be calling it a holy war. Obviously this comment was meant for Western audiences only, not for the perps.
