WashPost Stars Mourn Over Patrick, "Latest Victim of the Kennedy Curse"
NewsBusters ^ | May 6, 2006 | Tim Graham

Posted on 05/07/2006 1:21:44 PM PDT by EveningStar

It can't be argued that the Patrick Kennedy adventure on wheels is being ignored by the media. But part of the coverage has been suffused in a bit of overweening Kennedy-dynasty sympathy. Washington Post reporter/columnist Dana Milbank, who danced a jig of mockery in orange hunter clothes over Dick Cheney's shooting accident, wrote in Saturday's Washington Post about the "miserable character" who suffered after the crash:

Kennedy tried to ignore the din of shouted questions as he walked to the door, but he couldn't avoid the woman in the front row who asked if he would resign. He shook his head. "I need to stay in the fight," he said. Then the latest victim of the Kennedy Curse disappeared...

Me too ... *victim*?!?!

He's an addict on a Congressman's salary. How many people in his state has a gig that sweet?

If he really wants to earns the term 'victim' let me resign from office first, go to rehab, then start from the bottom of the political ladder again.
That's not the Kennedy way.
The Kennedy way is to cover it up and get the media to cover your tracks.

The Kennedy story is better than the one a lady told me when I was a young policeman that she was speeding because she was almost out of gas and trying to get to the gas station fast.

The Kennedy's have placed a curse on Massachusetts and Rhode Island, There can be no other excuse for electing these bums except a curse. Too bad Rose didnt shoot Joe for poling Gloria Swanson.

Just another example of what you get when you cross one drugged and drunken, sodden fool with another.....Patches !!
This poor example of humanity was doomed from the start, but has managed to keep the Kennedy name in the sewer as well as his daddy has, just hasn't killed anyone yet, but he is still relatively young.

His own adult choices cursed him. He should face responsibility for his actions and resign from congress immediately. Then he should seek treatment and take whatever legal penalties are due him. If he does that he'll be much more a man than many in his family including his dad.

The sycophant WP writer is just scripting ala Gollywood scene to conjure up unjustified sympathy for the perennial loser Patrick Kennedy. (Is Patrick Kennedy the one who lost a leg to cancer when he was a teen? Is "Patches" the Kennedy family's nickname for him?)

Rhode Island is a real loser too - a Kennedy satellite.

"some people make bad choices. Kennedy's are masters of not accepting responsibilty for their bad choices."

The Kennedys are America's "royal family" and THEY are ENTITLED to not accept responsibility. Accountability is for the OTHERS - the Hoi Poloi; the ignorant middleclass.

(Sarcasim alert)

Exactly! As I have said repeatedly to my young son, you are responsible for your decisions. I don't want to hear any of the "it was an accident" crap. That's a young person's version of playing the victim.

Ditto to THAT Mogirl!

You know, it seems as I get older that I have to work a little harder to even be mildly amusing, and then Sofa King comes along and does it effortlessly, scoring 10 outta 10 for laughs!

What a GREAT line!

The Kennedy Curse has been self-inflicted for the most part.

The Kennedy Curse is their irresponsibility and their arrogance, but the Kennedy's are not the victims of the curse, we are.

Starting with Joe (unrepentant Nazi-courter before and during WWII, profiteer, bootlegger, mob associate) ....

Just how many of the Kennedy clan HAVE been protected by the NY media?

JFK's sister was (wrongly) committed to an asylum for insanity to hide her, his brother was killed flying in WWII (a laudable though truly tragic death), JFK himself ran for Senator - then president based on his PT boat getting run over by a destroyer (? - and nobody can explain how THAT happened) and a ghost-written book (Profiles in Courage) authored by his speech-writer), Robert and then Ted rode his coattails (and women) into politics ...
