You have a point , but I'm sick of the "vote republican because as bad as we are the dems are worse" approach. I think if people stay home its more out of frustration than anything else. I mean if you have the house , senate and presidency and you still cringe whenever Dean or Kennedy or McCain for that matter bash your ideas (when they have nothing) then what good are you. Here we have people in the country illegally, openly disgracing our flag and basically telling us "screw you we know you haven't the guts to deport us", and the republicans are sitting around debating how they can pass amnesty without calling it amnesty. < /rant >

They know we are angry...The ball is in THIER court, lets see what they do with it. We have a right to complain. They have an obligation to EARN our vote.
I think it is better to DEMAND true representation of their elected officials rather than criticize others because they are not eagerly rushing to pick the giant douche over the turd sandwich.

As far as Bush on foreign policy goes he has been superb... Until Iran. If Iran does not represent a need for Preemption then what does? Iran is far more of a threat to us and a mortal one to Israel then Saddam was, and we dealt with him swiftly, but now with Iran we are going to let the Europeans deal with it. We have 130,000 Veteran Troops in Iraq and another 10,000 or so in Afghanistan and a butt load of equipment and logistics in theater so whats with the pussy footing?

If six years ago I told you they would expand the size of the Federal government by 50% would you believe me?
If you told me they would no nothing in regards to entitlements, tax reform, tort reform, vouchers...not to mention the borders...
Would you believe that?

Nicely said........especially the fact that we haven't had another attack....which by the way is the MAIN reason for Bush's unpopularity!!
Think about it!! The 10 second attention span types and the 60 minute solve the problems of the world types have already forgotten. In fact they now believe it was a fluke and won't ever happen again!!!
Thant being said you won't get through to the nattering nabobs of negativism that are growing ever more prevalent on FR.

If the president is concerned about being removed from office he should stop sucking up to special interest groups and do the right thing. We are only asking him to do what's in the best interest of the country. Why does he have a problem doing something he's supposed to do?I don't think we are being unreasonable for wanting secure borders and a sound immigration policy.

The Red Meat, All of Nothing, single issue fanatics can drive every movement into the ground. The left wing "MoveOne fanatics have captured the Democrat Party and removed them from the realm of sanity.
The question is, can fanatics destroy the Republicans as well?

This has nothing to do with supporting Democrats.Of course it does. Who is going to benefit? Who is going to withold funding for Iraq, forcing a premature end to our presence there? Who is going to hold endless hearings, stopping any permanence to the tax cuts?
You people are crazy. I just want to remember who will be responsible if the Democrats take over.
I, for one, will never let you forget it.

I am thankful that we have not experienced another terrorist attack but am concerned that one will occur sooner rather than later due to our porous borders. Sure, we attacked Afghanistan and Iraq and are fighting terrorism around the world but we have left our borders wide open.
If Pedro and his eighteen brothers can get in so can Mohammed and his eighteen hijacker friends
It's not what Bush and Congress are doing
it's what they are not doing
And I haven't even mentioned deficit spending, H1B's and amnesty for illegals.

well have fun getting your guy 1% or so...
I just hope it doesn't cost an election and I hope you would RATHER try to work to get a conservative elected within the established party.
It can happen.
It's working out in Ohio right now in the Governor's race.
Nah you know what, I don't care, do what you want. You have your vote, you will do what you want with it. But I can't WAIT to hear the screaming the day after the elections if current trends hold.

"Politics isn't for the weakkneed or faint of heart.
Go cower somewhere else."
It's not for the short-sighted either. Go take a civics course and see how government works.
You'll enjoy higher taxes, a higher probablity of terrorist attacks, and an impeachment.
But on the positive side, you'll be courageous.
