I'm more upset with Conservatives than I am with George W. Bush

Posted on 05/08/2006 7:04:26 PM PDT by mwfsu84

If I had told you on 9/11/2001 that we'd go four and half years and counting without another terrorist attack on US soil, would you have believed me?

If I had told you that US-led forces would secure Afghanistan in just a few months...something the Soviets couldn't accomplish in ten years...would you have thought I was crazy?

If I had told you that Saddam was gone, that Khadaffy had renounced terrorism, and that Iraq was on the verge of becoming the second democracy in the Middle East, would have thought I was on medication?

Sometimes in our disappointment of this administration, we often forget some of the positives. The economy is strong. More Americans are homeowners. With tax cuts, we're spending less time working for Uncle Sam.

And if you take those benefits for granted, just imagine how much different things would be under a President Al Gore.

So if the president's stance on immigration and spending upset you - and they do upset me - what are you going to do about it? Stay at home? Nothing could be worse for conservativism. Your non-support will usher in more immigrants, higher taxes, and weaker national security.

If the GOP loses Congress, George W. Bush will be removed from office. Nothing would embolden terrorists more. How can we be counted on to wage an effective war when we can't even decide who our enemy is?

George W. Bush isn't the enemy. But that's exactly the message conservatives will send to the world if they stay at home this November.

If you're upset with W. on immigration - write him, write a Republican Congressman, let him know how you feel. It was conservatives who got Bush to change his mind on Harriet Meirs.

I promise you, a Democratic Congress won't be nearly as responsive to your needs.

"I, for one, will never let you forget it."

Knowing you I have got to be on your list, if I'm not already.

I remember someone once telling me that cornered animals are the most ferocious right before they die. And that battles are the ugliest right before total surrender

What a perfect, and frightening analogy, polly.

We are dealing with cornered animals here, and their teeth are bared. It's getting uglier and uglier. I will leave this thread in prayer that this evidence of the demonic is ended soon on this forum.

There is SO much at stake. We are fighting for our very lives and for the life of this country...........and I, for one, am not going to back down from the battle.

(Except for right now, cause I've got to get some sleep!)

CONSERVATIVES don't win elections... MAJORITIES do..

Here's the thing: most of us on this forum ARE conservatives; we're just not "conservative enough" for some of the Patsies and JBSers.

The extreme right wing of this party is in a full tilt hissy fit because they are losing what they consider to be their hold over the party, as the GOP reflects the people who join (which, of course, the purist HATE).

The people who blackmail the GOP year after year with their vote cannot win without us "mushy moderates," as they like to refer to us.

They LOVE to say the GOP cannot win without them, but it is they who cannot win with the GOP.

"How exactly is that related?"

It's more relevant than your replying to a response not directed at you.

This has nothing to do with supporting Democrats. It has everything to do with holding our elected officials accountable.

what kind of twisted logic is that. You give the store to the enemy to 'teach' our side?

Yeah, that's well thought out - so, what about our troops? and the fact that if the dims get control, they'll pull the troops and it wont' be long before you;ll be counting on the illegals to help fight the terrorists on your doorstep

Which came first, the chicken, or the egg?

and this is the worst I can remember.

It is pretty bad; we've been infiltrated by some bad dudes, claiming to be on our side, but they want to shove us out.

They're just as desperate as the Democrats are, IMO.

So you can stuff your resentment of conservatives where the sun don't shine. Your politicians have earned their reputations. Now they can suffer for them in November. Not that they care.

"Your politicians"..."Not that they care."

Listen up MissAmericanPottedMeatSandwich, you aren't a Republican, so why the hell do you care what Republicans do? If you're going to vote third-party, go tell the Democrats at DU...they'll be damned happy to hear about it.

Your posts are emblematic of the transparent horse$hit flying around this board lately...you people are moronic!

Trust me.....
I am ANYTHING but a "mushy" Conservative...

I just don't see the wisdom in political suicide over a single issue, when we have so many others to deal with, like the very existence of America freedoms as we know it.......

Is there ANYBODY on this forum that believes that Queen Hillary would work for our best interests?? Because that's what you'll get if we lose.

There will be no more exposures of Dem systemic Voter Fraud, because "the Fairness Doctrine" will make sure anything that gets out is simply explained away......

(My pet peeve is the MILLIONS of Americans who have had thier most basic right taken away by Democrats for DECADES.)

You did, however, butt into a conversation that didn't involve you. So get over the high-and-mighty attitude.
