......< "Once an illegal alien is apprehended, they can request counsel," he said. "We have to give their counsel the information about their apprehension, and that includes where they are apprehended, whether a Minuteman volunteer spotted them or a citizen."

Martinez said Mexico's official perception of the civilian groups is that they are vigilantes, a belief the Border Patrol hoped to allay by entering into the cooperative agreement>........

IT SEEMS BOTH TH US GOVERNMENT AND THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT CONSIDERS THE'MINUTEMEN'...'VIGILANTES'.

Unbelievable. Now if the Minutemen start building a wall, I suppose the Border Patrol is going to go out with bolt cutters?

This is outrageous! Our government has no business telling foreign governments of U.S. citizens' movements.

This would be like the cops telling burglars what homes are part of a neighborhood watch and what times they are active.

Someone should be fired over this, but, hey, this is the federal government.

a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

The "migrant's" rights? What about America's rights?

Minuteman volunteer spotted them or a citizen.

The Minutemen are not citizens?

Why do we even bother to have laws, our own government act in collusion with illegal aliens and foreign governments against it's own people.

The government refuses to do it's job and when the citizens try to do something the government actively world against them.

Claire, is it soon?

"This...simply makes two basic statements--that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type..."

Oh really? Which type of lawlessness are you not allowing?

the U.S. Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups when they participate in apprehending illegal immigrants --

I'm friggin' speechless.

that migrants' rights are being observed.

They don't have any rights on this side of the border but a quick deportment. THey are CRIMINALS! Isn't that the way the Mexican gov't looks at invaders in their country?

"We have to give their counsel the information about their apprehension, and that includes where they are apprehended, whether a Minuteman volunteer spotted them or a citizen."
Uh...I believe that is the same. The Minutemen are citizen volunteers.
Many times, we were told not to go out to Minuteman calls.
Well, there you have it. Can't have the citizens helping in this endeavor. This is sickening.
"Now we know why it seemed like Mexican officials knew where we were all the time," said Chris Simcox, founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. "It's unbelievable that our own government agency is sending intelligence to another country. They are sending intelligence to a nation where corruption runs rampant, and that could be getting into the hands of criminal cartels.

"They just basically endangered the lives of American people."
Simcox is spot on with these comments. Like I said, it is sickening and clear that elements of our own government does not want this problem resolved or assisted by American citizens who are patriotic and trying to help. Begins to make one wonder just exactly what it is that they are afraid of.

I smell State Department orders given to Border Patrol via Fox Buddy Bush. Keep it up Bush. When the people turn on the GOP in November you can claim all the credit due to ya for making it all possible.

I am real close to losing my faith in Bush and his administration. If I were to be polled, I'd be one of those conservatives that has lost faith in the President.

This is absolutely ridiculous. What laws have the Minutemen broke to deserve to be dragged threw the mud like this? It's disgusting!!!!!

If you vote for the same, you'll get more of the same.

So far, the GOP aren't proposing any significant changes.

The choice is the wacko left progressive wing of the Democrat Party or the rino wacko progressive wing of the Republican party.

There is no viable 3rd choice, unless enough people show their disgust and go elsewhere.

If you vote for the same, you'll get more of the same.

Charging the Mexican government $10,000 for each one illegal alien we return to them would solve this issue once and for all.

12 million illegals X $10,000 each would earn the US Government 120 Billion dollars.... beats the heck out of raising taxes on American citizens!
