SANTA ANA, Calif. -- A Los Angeles man who was denied a red nylon tote bag during a Mother's Day promotion at an Angels baseball game has filed a sex and age discrimination lawsuit against the team.
The class action claim filed by Michael Cohn alleges that thousands of males and fans under age 18 are entitled to $4,000 in damages each because they were treated unequally at last May's promotion.
Women over 18 received the gifts.
Angel officials said Cohn was the only person who complained about the giveaway and that the team is proud of its promotions.
This weekend's Mother's Day promotion will offer tote bags to the first 25,000 fans over age 18, regardless of their gender.
An Angels spokesman would not say whether the change was in response to Cohn's complaint. But Cohn's lawyer said the altered promotion still violates the civil rights of fans under age 18.
Some people really have nothing better to do with their time. He needs to get a job and get a life. Sickening....
A bill for Court costs is all he should get.
Thus the wussification of our men continues. What a cry baby.
They should have offered a bra in Dodger blue.
How about his attorney?
Whoops, read too fast!
I don't think he has cause of action according to common law, but I understand how he feels. LOL!
I know just where to put it.
I can help..there is a certain number for him to call..1-800-IMAWUSS...
There are some that don't consider anyone under 18 with any rights besides what thier parents tell them they have.
I think mothers under age 18 would have a better case.
Well, does any MLB team offer a males-only promotion, like say on Father's Day?
Do you think they could get away with it, without the man-haters descending en masse? After all, doesn't fatherhood represent the historical legacy of a patriarchal oppressive society?
It really is sad that people make their living this way. What about representing people that honestly, legitimately need assistance? So pathetic to me.
The same old "Ladies Night" argument with a twist.
I'm surprised Mr. Cohn isn't a gay parent.

He should be asking for more money, because I'm sure the trauma just ruined the ballgame for him, too.
What a putz.
LOL! Same place I think the tote should be put I bet...
Some people just need an old-fashioned ass-whoopin'. Or a bitch slap.
Him and his lawyer both.
Another article said this guy is an LA psychologist.
Whadda p*ssy

IMHO, the claimants may lack legal standing.
The bags were given to women OVER 18 but not to men UNDER 18.
Under civil law, the 'men' have not reached their majority and have no civil 'person' to stand in court for them UNLESS their parents are the claimants in the class action.
If the team had an 18 year old age limit, they're covered.
Personally, I wish they'd pass out 25,000 bags and let everyone take a whack at this stupid socialist wanker!
:-)
That makes sense.
he'll have to wait until they have 'pain in the ass' day
Leftists hate mother's day. They hate father's day. They hate mothers and fathers. They hate the traditional family even though it is the norm in all cultures all over the world.
Leftists would destroy our society so that they can replace it with a leftist paradise (communism).
Well, the good news is that at least this guy's not an "illegal immigrant"...
Toss it out of court.
It IMO was a GIFT from the Angels Team to Women exclusive.
No one can demand gifts be given.
I can't imagine kicking up such a fuss over a cheap tote bag you can buy anywhere.

The bag in question.
They should have made an announcment over the PA and let the fans decide it at that moment.....butt kicked by the crowd.
He needs a psychologist.
Oh god, he could pick up a dozen of them in the trash outside the park as soon as mom sees what they look like in public...
I'm different I guess. I feel they should have given him the gift bag. After all, he really was paying for it after all.
The little wuss should have gone to the game in drag if he wanted a free purse that bad.
Tackiness knows no gender or age.........
After seeing a picture of the bag in question somehow going in drag might come natural to this guy...
Doesn't that guy realize that by filing this bogus suit he's just announced to the entire world that he's an idiot? May he reap the, uh, 'benefits' of such stupidity...
What is this moron's major malfunction?!?
He won't be happy until nobody is happy.
Made in China with a unit cost of less than $0.50
SOMEBODY PLEASE SANCTION HIS LAWYER!!!!!!
He dude, just because your friends always call you "one sick mother" doesn't mean you are entitled to a gift on Mother's Day. It's just an expression (and not really a flattering one).
The Texas Rangers did last year. I took my Dad to the game and we each got a grilling set that included a pair of barbecue tongs, a nice heavy-duty spatula, and a basting brush. This year the only promotion on Father's Day is a "Sunday Sundae" special wherein kids under 13 get an ice cream sundae for a dollar.
My understanding was that the pink bats were made available only to the players who requested them (and they had a difficult time meeting all the requests). I hope Kevin Mench hits 3 home runs with the pink bat that he requested. His mother, like mine, passed away from breast cancer, so I consider him a kindred spirit.
Did they stuff the Mothers Day bags with ironing board covers?
