'THE whole world is mov ing towards God," Ira nian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written to his American counterpart, George W. Bush. "Would Your Excellency not wish to join?" In Tehran, the Persian text of the letter has become a favorite topic at dinner table conversations and is often the source of much mirth because of its flowery style, its numerous spelling and grammatical errors and, above all, the insight it offers into the mind of a man who clearly sees himself as an agent of the Hidden Imam in hastening the end of the "Infidel" domination of the world. Initially, the letter was supposed to be a private message from the Islamic Republic to the Bush administration. But once Washington had dismissed it as irrelevant to the issues on hand, its text was leaked to reporters in Tehran. Ahmadinejad's epistolary exercise seem merely another of his quirks. But it must be seen as yet another sign that the new leadership in Tehran is determined to provoke a direct confrontation with the United States in the hope that, plagued by internal problems, the Americans will either back away or be humiliated. Ahmadinejad's move fits into a 14-century-long Muslim tradition, initiated by the Prophet Muhammad himself, of writing letters to "the rulers of the world." In 625 A.D., having consolidated his position in Medina and established a secure power base for his rule, the prophet decided it was time to call on "the infidel" to abandon their faith and submit to Islam. He dictated letters to Khosrow Parviz, the Persian king of kings to Emperor Heraclius of Byzantium and the Ethiopian monarch Negus To each, the prophet's offer was simple: Convert to Islam and secure a place in paradise - or cling to your beliefs and face the sword of Islam.

President Bush should send a brief but polite reply. He should point out that according to President Bush's faith, the true God uses his Word to convert believers, and not under threat of man's sword. He should point out that God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are One, and let the ayatollahs ponder that mystery for a while.
For all the good it will do. But as a loyal American I'd be happy to give the State Department a hand with a draft:
Dear Nads,
1. Please to grasp a handful of sand.
2. Pound. Repeat.

Yer good buddy,

ps - lose the beard, dude, it's so 90's. Live a little. Grow a mohawk, get some tats and some metal in your head. You'll feel better.
Like all Islamic rhetoric, it should be taken at face value. If they say they are going to obliterate Israel and replace our constitution with the quaran, then that is exactly what they plan to do.
They keep telling us this, yet we continue to brush it off and laugh.
They have infiltrated us, in fact the world. There procedures work. They move to a country, raise families, acquire jobs in all sectors, live in all parts of the target country. They start to make demands based on their their religious beliefs (the quaran). Nativity scenes are offensive, require rooms and time for prayer, imposing their beliefs at the expense of others. Softening the target so to speak. By leveraging political ground gained at every turn. Subjugation in any means, some subtle, some not so subtle. Each appeasement is a victory for them. When their population reaches a critical mass they strike. They plan to do this with in our lifetimes.France may well already be lost. There is no such thing as a peaceful islamist, it simply means they have not been activated.
We must not continue to dismiss them in apathetic arrogance.
We should be prepared to bare arms.
Ok, so the President of the United States of America is to tell the world that the true bastion of freedom and tolerance, the liberators of tyranny, our country has been killing innocent people when it could all have been avoided by converting to Islam?
I urge everyone to mention this ultimatum to all family, friends, and acquaintances. And urge them to do likewise.
I hope our boarders have been secure enough to prevent nuclear ordinance from being planted with in our borders. This sounds like an ominous pretense to something very dark. It's letters like this that end up in History books.
Will it take an American Hiroshima to awaken the majority, to mobilize our masses against the Islamic quest of world domination?
Islam must be crushed. Islam must not be recognized as a religion any more than Nazism was. All Mosques should be declared delinquent of taxes owed retroactive from the day they were built. ANY gathering of Islamics should be PROSECUTED as CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MASS MURDER, found guilty and deported. Country by country, state by state, town by town, foot by foot, inch by inch, the Islamic cancer must be eradicated.
"Attack Iran and I'll kill its President!"
Let us again praise Jimmy Carter for all of this...
What the world needs right now is another Mongol Invasion of 'Persia'.
Now THAT is one I would like to see sent!
I'm sure ol' Peanut brain, would like us to pull all of our troops out of the Middle East and stop our meddling in their affairs.
I couldn't agree more. We should evacuate all troops in the region. A highly organized rapid retreat. Then hit Iran with as much nuclear ordinance required to remove all semblance of technology and defense, then rapidly move the troops back to non-radiating areas. Survivors can be given meaningful jobs rebuilding the country in the image of their liberators country, the good ol' U.S. of A. Some workers can have jobs mining a new element, that I hereby dub "Iranonyte" which can be sold as souvenirs and collectors items. What? Wait a minute...you mean Jimmy Carter would never do that? Oh. Ummm, sorry.
I hadn't seen this one yet and Mr. Taheri is someone I read whenever he writes on the M.E., often appearing in the WSJ. Thanks for this post.
I think he's been a bit prolific lately. I like Charles Krauthammer's latest also.
"The Monguls were ruthless. Surrender or we kill you, enslave your women and children and destroy your cities."
Sounds reasonable enough.
