Yet another rat abuse of power for political reasons. It's happening all over.

Conspiracy to commit political discrimination sounds like he was planning not to hire someone because they were a Democrat.

That's exactly what he's being accused of. In KY, it's illegal to not hire someone for a government position because of their political affiliation. They've been going after Fletcher's administration for at least a year now.

For the record, everyone I know here in Northern Kentucky thinks it's a bullshit charge.

I spoke with the Governor this evening (around 7) at a function here in my hometown. Highly p****d off is how I would describe him.

Stumbo is gonna get countersued IMO.

BTW.........for all you outsiders...........Stumbo is an old political name (Dem) in our Commonwealth, so he knows how to play the game. His goal has ALWAYS been to hurt and hobble Fletcher, and he has done so in spades.

He'll (Stumbo) will be on the ticket in '08 for Guv.

"I refuse to believe he had anything to do with any organized effort to fire state employees just because they were Democrats."

Who the hell cares if he did. People who had been sucking the public teat there for 32 straight years under DUmmycrats had to go out and find a real job. Boo hoo.

And so will Stumbo, when he gets beat like a gong by Fletcher next year; and -- Double Schadenfreude -- Stumbo also has to foresake re-election to his current job in order to run for governor.

That Dumbo ain't the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree...or the unemployment line...

"But it was former GOP gubernatorial candidate Larry Forgy who injected the most inflammatory shots. He had warned Republicans at a breakfast earlier in the day that he wanted to shake what has become "a kinder, gentler Fancy Farm." At the breakfast, he said, "We've got an Attorney General that won't even own up to his own children" -- referring to a custody dispute involving a child Stumbo fathered out of wedlock." -- Lexington Herald-Leader, Aug. 7, 2005

Yeah, well, two staunch right wingers (me and the wife) just moved to KY. They automatically register you to vote when you get a DL. So, we're here to help it swing in the "right" direction.

I have to admit, I do miss home sometimes. I'm living in NC, and it's beautiful here, but Kentucky is one of the most breath-takingly beautiful places on earth. I miss the fact that my children didn't get to see what a farm was like and all of the critters. They didn't get to pick their food for dinner, then sit around on the front porch while we listened to bluegrass gospel on the radio or Daddy picked his guitar, or just listening to the grand-parents and great-grandparents shoot the breeze. And I'm not that old. Those were good times.

A wonderful vision, to this skyscraper-imprisoned NYer.

This is a badge of honor. Our effective people are always targeted. I hope Fletcher beats the rap, no matter what. If he doesn't, the Rat state employees will continue to rule the state, nullifying the gubernatorial election.

This is how the game is played, and we need to win, period.

Without doubt, Nancy Baloney and Howard Dork have put the msg out, indict any (R) possible so we can publicize it going into the erections. These "people" are pathetic.

90% of the mandarins kept their worthless jobs, that's why Dumbo's pogrom is so wretchedly laughable...

Actually, I'm pretty sure they are distant cousins. They are not always on the same side politically. How is this for irony . . . Grady Stumbo quietly supported Fletcher in 2003 and his daughter is employed in Fletcher's administration. Pretty high ranking job too!

Political discrimination????

Truly a contradiction in terms- by nature, anything political is discriminatory.

The habit we are getting into of criminalizing political activity (this, 'hate crimes', 'campaign finance reform,' voter fraud, etc.) will culminate in civil war.

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks that a second civil war is on the horizon. And by nice to know I don't mean that I hope that it happens.
