The Vermont liberal is trying to change that.
Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean told CBN News that his party has a lot in common with the evangelical community.
Dean wants evangelicals and other conservative Christians to know that Democrats have something to offer them.
"The truth is, we have an enormous amount in common with the Christian community, and particularly with the evangelical Christian community,” Dean said.
But the Democrats’ record on hot political issues such as abortion, gay marriage, and separation of church and state don't match up with that of evangelicals...

He must think we evangelicals are as blind as he and the looney left are. I think we recognize a phony when we see him/her.

Howard Dean's real message: "To many of us, the evangelical message is like bed pan droppings. Since our message is like bed pan droppings, you can devour what we put out as a gourmet dinner. Soup's on!"

Whatever comes out of Howard Dean mouth, helps Republicans more than Democrats. You can watch all the stupid shows on Cable News where Democratic flacks recite their talking points and Old Crazy Howard never gets a mention.
He actually stated that "the Democratic platform states that marriage is between a woman and man" - except that THAT IS NOT IN THE DEMO PLATFORM. And then he had to totally back down when gays complained about it The big contributors to the DNC: gays and environmentalist wackos.
Is that the PLO emblem or tefillin around his neck (Hebrew prayer shawl)? The man is CONFUSED - AARRRRRGH!

Haven't the Clintons tactily acknowledged that they only go to church since it is a social thing, and deep down inside they are agnostics/atheists? Several politically conservative and leftist politicians in New Zealand have openly stated they are avowed atheists.
And what fellowship does light have with darkness??

Well...the Democrats DO have something in common with SOME evangelicals...the ones that hold the revivals and telethon "gimme your dollas for the lord" crowd. The ones that have the 'old crippled ladies' jump up and dance when they've had the 'hands of the lord' laid on them...and so on....
