You still haven't addressed my main point: China has overtly threatened to nuke the US. They are threatening to invade Taiwan - and if we defend Taiwan, they've threatened to nuke the US West Cost. Yet we deal with them through diplomacy and even trade. Iran, for all its rogue ways, hasn't invaded another country since biblcal times. (Iraq invaded Iran in the Iran-Iraq war.) The support for terror that you note is consistent with Russia's support for terror in the 70s and 80s (including the shooting of the Pope). We defeated Russia without invading Russia.
You are thinking in old world terms. There is more than one way to invade a country. And you are wrong if you think Iran has not overtly threatened the US. Their president flat out stated that he envisioned a world without America and thought such a goal was attainable in his lifetime. And he didn't put any conditions on it.
I am no apologist for the Chicom threat. But radical Islam has been at war with us for 25+ years--killing Americans and getting away with it. And deterrence doesn't work so well on Jihadists.
The Chicoms can be deterred. If they think we have enough power to make the cost of war to great, they will not attack.
Like I say, very similar to the Soviet-inspired terrorism of the 70s and 80s, which we responded to through means other than invading the Soviet Union. An invasion of Iran would do one thing - give us a recession by spiking oil to $100. Watch the GOP go down in flames when that happens and Hillary become president. Invading Iran isn't necessary to contain Iran, any more than it's necessary to invade China in order to contain China - or it was necessary to invade USSR in order to contain them and, eventually, stop their terror connection.

Who is advocating an invasion of Iran? You never saw me post that. There is simply no comparison between the magnitude and goals of the political terrorism sponsored by the Sovs in the 70s and the 80s and those of radical Islamist groups. Groups like the Red Brigades, the Japanese Red Army, and the Baader Meinhoff Gang had political goals and objectives and carried out attacks with those in mind. When the political situation evaporated the Sovs, the groups evaporated.
Jihadists practice "apocalyptic" terror. They have no intermediate political goals. They don't take hostages and demand their comrades be released or that the US pull out of Iraq even. Their goal is simple: establish a caliphate and worldwide Muslim hegemony. Convert or die.

The name allah comes from the black rock the pagan arabs used to worship (and still do). Allah is a contraction from the arabic "al ilah ta'ala" which means "the (rock) god most" high. It was gradually shortened to "allah", and in common use by the pagan rock worshiping arabs when Mohammad was born. He stole the name after he killed off his own tribe. Before that, Mohammad called his god Ar-rahman.

But if an Egyptian limo driver just wakes up one morning peed off at Israel and his neighbor flying the Marine Corps flag and decides to grab a Glock and head to the El Al counter at LAX, the only way to stop him is at the scene of the act.
