I've heard pros and cons about the dish,.....

I've had Dish Network for over seven years. I've had only two failures (both hardware) in that entire time. I absolutely LOVE it.

FYI. From Random House on Tar Baby:

The tar baby is a form of a character widespread in African folklore. In various folktales, gum, wax, or other sticky material is used to trap a person.

The folktale achieved currency in the United States in written form in one of Joel Chandler Harris's Uncle Remus stories, a collection of stories based on African-American folklore, narrated by the fictional Uncle Remus, a former slave. In the story "Tar-Baby," the character Brer Fox makes a doll out of tar, which he places by the road to entrap his enemy Brer Rabbit. Brer Rabbit talks to the doll, and when it doesn't answer, he hits it, and gets stuck in the tar. The more he struggles with it, the more he is entangled in it.

This story has led to the figurative use of tar baby in the sense 'an inextricable problem or situation', sometimes with the nuance 'something used to entrap a person'. Both the examples cited in the question show the use of this sense, which appears to be first used in the early twentieth century.

The expression tar baby is also used occasionally as a derogatory term for black people (in the U.S. it refers to African-Americans; in New Zealand it refers to Maoris), or among blacks as a term for a particularly dark-skinned person. As a result, some people suggest avoiding the use of the term in any context.

Tony closes with "I love it, this is great."

I love it, too. As much as I miss the show, Tony is where he needs to be for the good of the country.

"What...is the average air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"

Is that an African or European unladen Swallow?

I don't mean to be sentimental...OK, OK, I'm being sentimental.

Seeing all us Snowflakes here again brings Snowflakes to my eyes.

Oh, be quiet. ;-)

Woof, Snoq, Are you smoking rope?, CHOCOLATE!

We did have a ball, did we not?

You will lose satellite reception during heavy storms. It serves as a last minute warning.

Kieri is right. Rain fade happens occasionally, usually during a heavy downpour. However, our cable would ALWAYS go out during thunderstorms, so a little rain fade doesn't bother me. It is cheaper than our local cable, the picture is better, and you get loads of choices. I love it, and will never go back to cable.

"I think tomorrow, Wednesday the 17th is LiveStrong Day for the Lance Armstrong Foundation."

Plus Tony went through colon cancer last year and his mother died of cancer. He was very emotional in telling how great his doctors were and that he believes it was a miracle.

We bought a Dish way back in 1997 and Dish Net has been great!! A year or so ago, they even wrote us a letter telling us that our old receiver would antiquated and would soon stop working so we needed to get a new receiver. They sent us the latest, new one for FREE. All we had to do was return the old one in a postage-paid box. Now I have all the fancy bells and whistles....rewind live t.v., and DVR too.

you should at least look at FiOS from Verizon. I ditched cable internet access and I am waiting until Verizon and Comcast agree on the Sports channels and I will switch to Verizon FiOS TV....FiOS rocks.....running 15m downloads and 3 meg uploads..
(as he blows the smoke from the barrel of his .44)

I guess Comcast will answer my complaints next time :-)
