It went "cluck, cluck" and layed an egg!

I meant Murtha, of course.......

If you'd been a little more observant and as perfect as you apparently think you are, you would have also noticed I spelled Murtha's name wrong several times too.</sarc>

"But, at least the leftist newspapers will realize how many people despise Murtha and that has to give us some satisfaction."
I am sure you are right. Somehow I think they already know how many people feel about this guy. They are not dumb, on the contrary, extremly cunning and calculating.

most of the text of the note I sent with it....

I am an Army Vietnam Veteran (67-68) and have been appalled with Rep. Murthas efforts to discredit our military personnel, as well as his generally anti-American activities. I truly believe his actions are rooted in his genuine (but obscured) political ideology. He appears to be motivated by much more than can be reasonably attributed to simple partisan politics. This man is a disgrace.

Please accept the enclosed check for your campaign expenses.

Very sincerely, from Michigan,

Good letter. I plan to contact my senators and Congressman asking them to make a public statement on Murtha. I hope others join me.

Murtha should be a bit more nervous this morning. He went from the far left rhetoric to now the far, far left rhetoric where 90% of Americans won't step foot.

You're right. He and especially his staff cannot be having a very good day. I've already called the offices of my Congressman and two senators, and now I'll be calling Mr. Murtha's office.

I do, I do!

By the way, the young lady in Mr. Murtha's office was not particularly appreciative of my call. She was polite... at least until I concluded with "Tell the senile old fart to retire!"

Hey, other than that, I was pretty well behaved. :-D

I plan to contact my senators and Congressman...

I will do the same, even with McCain. (araarrgh!)

I ran into a uniformed serviceman just out of Iraq in the grocery store the other day and thanked him, shook hands. He was very nice and said it really does makes a difference in moral for us to do that.

People like Kerry and Murtha really amaze me with their treachery and deceit about our troops. There oughta be a term for that kind of sickness, like Americaphobia, anti-munchousen syndrome or something.

Yes, but he also supports never refuting John Kerry and his false denigration of troops. It's all free speech to McCain, which is very ironic.

Hi guys....

I was watching Brit Hume's show..and they covered this pretty extensively...but, then Bret Baier came on...and said that the Pentagon says the report on the incident isn't finished yet...BUT, from what they said...the report could be really "UGLY"...sigh

Rummy is on with Bill O'Reilly tonight...and BOR is going to grill him about this, using the comparison of My Lai, in Vietnam...and says to Rummy that if that is the case, then that is really gonna hurt our effort in Iraq..

Bill O'Reilly said it differently...I can't remember his words exactly..but they were more ominous sounding than what I posted...

I have had a knot in my stomach ever since I saw that...I just got to this thread...have you guys heard anything different??

There's nothing new there from the original NBC article. The Pentagon is only saying an investigation is still ongoing. They're not denying the treasonous SOB's claims, nor are they confirming them. Some "unnamed military officials" have been using the "it could get ugly" or "it's gonna be ugly" phrase.

Regardless of Marine guilt or innocence, Murtha's still a scumbag. He's playing this up for his own gain and to hurt Dubya, without giving a damn for the damage he's causing our troops. He even had a quote about how thing have gotten worse, not better, in Iraq. This SOB needs to be retired NOW!!!

I totally agree with you about Murtha...

I remember reading about this incident way back when it happened....and I didn't believe the Marines did it then, and I don't now...but, I HATE that Murtha is making this look like a "cover up"...

BTW..O'Reilly, in the clip Brit showed..doesn't seem to have any trouble believing it, IMHO>

Please keep me updated on anything you find out...I just HATE it when the troops get used...for good PR, OR for bad PR...

Thanks...

I find it very hard to believe it occurred the way it's being described. There's a human rights group pushing this whole thing, so keep that in mind. Do I believe innocents were killed during a battle? Unfortunately, sure. Do I believe a Marine or two lost their heads and potentially violated law and code of conduct after seeing their buddy killed? Sure. Do I believe an entire squad/patrol entered a home and executed a mother, her 3-year old and other family members and then tried to cover it up? No, I really don't.

Murtha is a treasonous sack of crap. I hope the Marines are innocent of these charges, but it won't change my opinion one iota if they're not.
