EXCELLENT POST!
The closer we get to November 2008, this sounds EXACTLY like what we can expect from Murtha and the Cut-N-Run crowd.
What disturbs me is how prophetic your post may actually be.
It sounds almost TOO real.....

IF you voted for him, it was most likely because he was a strong leader who said what he meant, and did what he said.
Because he was honest, and courageous, and the kind of leader this country needed.
He hasn't changed. Why have you?

It's not wise to call the one who outwitted you, 'Hon.' ;)

Clever. Original. Creative.
Now answer the question. What has changed YOU that you no longer support him?
(Or was that just a seminar caller line you used?)

Given the two week deployment criteria, that means up to 150,000 Guardsmen will eventually be sent to the border. Now that is just plain over the top, tell you what, you watch and when it hit's 10,000 you post that fact. Until then try to stay in the shade.

I wonder, though, why the deployment was announced before the details were in place. Republicans needed to get ahead of the story.

The Army doesn't do anything in 2 week rotations.

Can someone enlighten me as to why Posse Comitatis plays any role in this issue of border control? Seriously, I know the military (supposedly) cannot use force against its citizens.
But, we're not talking about using force against our own citizens. We're talking about one of the few responsibilities of the Federal government, to control our borders.

Ya' know, that kinda' mindset just grates on me to no end.
You're either a supporter or you're not. NOBODY is perfect!
I'm am no less happy about the President's immigration efforts than anyone else. BUT, to drop your support for him because of this is just plain ridiculous! Honest criticism and discussion is good, but to lay your support on one issue? Puh-lease.
Or maybe you never really did SUPPORT him?
The President has taken on and fought the fights that HE sees as being the most important and relevant. That's what a good President does, he doesn't pander or knuckle under, he stays focused like a laser beam on HIS agenda.
He's got the job, not us.
:O)

A two-week rotation? Take away travel time, orientation, billeting, etc. and you've probably got 9-10 days of actual duty. They won't even find out where the restrooms are in that amount of time.

A better alternative......MINE THE BORDER! Mines are much much cheaper, last for decades, can't be tunneled under very well and are a very effective message to send to Mexico! That's a stupid idea.
The IQ of this thread just dropped 50 points.

I honestly believe that GWB has SO definately failed our country on the immigration issue that he might rightly DESERVE Impeachment. What a clown. Do you live under a bridge troll or a freeway overpass?

I think this is going to be the yearly "weekend warrior" rotation -- this time on the border instead of the desert somewhere.
