I know I'm not the only one who read the title and immediately had thoughts of picking up a baseball bat.

Podhoretz urges Republicans to set aside ideology and social issues and unite

So Podhoretz suggests GOP conservatives just surrender to the RINOs and shut our mouths about issues like gun control, immigration, taxes, gov't spending, and abortion as to not divide the party, which in turn would make it easier for Hillary to become Prez?

Fahgetaboutit.

Obviously, Hillary hopes that the Republicans don't nominate Giuliani, John McCain or Condoleezza Rice. A nice white male conservative like George Allen or Bill Frist would be much more to her liking.

Bill Frist, a conservative? Morris is a comedian.

The above says that Hillary says we Right Wingers are to blame for abortion.

Since hillary is so concerned about abortion, we need to ask Hillary for her support to ban the murder of very young human beings. For those who want to ask her to ban abortion:

Washington, D.C. Senator hillary rodham clinton

United States Senate

476 Russell Senate Office Building

Washington, DC 20510

Phone: (202) 224-4451

General Fax: (202) 228-0282 Scheduling Req Fax: (202) 228-0121

TTY/TDD: (202) 224-6821

And I think you can use this link to contact her via the web: http://www.senate.gov/~clinton/contact/

Thank you!

My thoughts exactly. He's hoping the social conservatives - the ones who decided the last election - will just shut up and pull the lever for a pro-abortion, anti-gun, pro-gay rights liberal. Sorry, Johnny, not in this lifetime. Why is it that so many think that such a candidate is the only type who can beat Her Heinous, when previous election results show otherwise?

What's black and white and read all over and is more self-destructive than pre-9/11 thinking?
Pre-clinton thinking, that's what....
Putting doctrinal purity ahead of making sure a defective and dangerous clinton never again controls this country is pre-clinton thinking.
We no longer have the luxury of time or circumstance to massage our sensibilities, to indulge our indignations.
We will not survive another clinton. (We may yet not survive the first one.)

Simple question, Mia: Would you vote for a treasonous bastard (and a crazy one, to boot) if he won the GOP nomination?

We will not survive another clinton.

Probably not. But I doubt we'd survive a madman RINO either.

As I mentioned, social conservatives decided the last presidential election. I am amazed that so many people, conservatives among them, believe that only a pro-abortion, anti-gun, pro-gay-rights liberal Republican can beat a pro-abortion, anti-gun, pro-gay-rights liberal Democrat.

Hillary can be beaten easily so long as the GOP doesn't try to out-democrat the democrats. That's not a given anymore.

You are erroneously focusing on the non-dispositive issues. Giuliani is leading in the polls not because of his views per se but because of who he is.

We must pick the best candidate. Period. He (and it must be a 'he'--see 'HILLARY'S COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF PROBLEM' above) will, IMO, be in some ways a non-Bush.

He will be seen as highly competent, a strong leader, a strong Commander in Chief, have demonstrated success fighting terrorists and criminals, be a great communicator and, most important, be a non-ideologue: The country has been demagogued on this, and fairly or not, will look for comity in 08.

Timing is everything. If you really want to win--and by that I mean succeeding in achieving your agenda--you will pick your fights and the timing wisely. If we lose the war, nothing else will matter.
