HANDCUFFING COPS: SENATE BILL IS PRO-TERROR
NEW YORK POST ^ | May 24, 2006 | KRIS W. KOBACH

Posted on 05/24/2006 3:22:30 AM PDT by beckaz

May 24, 2006 -- THE immigration bill before the Senate is touted as a "compromise" - one that tightens enforcement even as it allows for higher levels of legal immigration. In fact, its 614 pages are packed with anti-enforcement provisions. The worst is probably the one on page 170 - which would disarm America's state and local police in the War on Terror.

....... [SNIP]........

Thus, the bill can't be fixed simply by removing this provision, because it is packed with hidden surprises that the nation isn't supposed to notice. And there's no guarantee that we have found them all.

It's simply impossible to place any faith in a bill that was written by people who want to disarm the men and women on the front line of America's defenses in the War on Terror.

The insanity continues.

Who writes these bills? Who are the staffers in the Senate? And this is with a Republican Senate?

Make sure you work very hard to see that this thing dies a slow, painful, miserable death in the House.

I am.

The Senate has lost its mind. I am proud that the Senators from Georgia have consistently voted against citizenship and amnesty. If they want to stay in DC, they need to listen to the folks back home and continue to vote that way.

Welcome to the warped world of a Republican controlled Senate. NEVER, in my wildest imagination, did I ever think they could possibly be worse thaan the Dems. Worse, one of my senators, Mel Martinez, is partially responsible for this drecl of a "compromise bill" that gives Bush and the illegal invaders everything they want at the expense of American citizens who pay the bills and vote to keep these traitors in office.

In the 90s, someone came up with an idea called "THRO" for "Throw the Rascals Out". It was a great idea until it came time to put it into play. Turns out, most voters thought their rascals were ok, it was everyone else's rascals that were the problem.

Maybe it's finally time to clean house in the Congress and start over again (or, as one columnist put it a few weeks ago, re-boot Congress). What we have is NOT a "Representative Republic" and we need to get throwing them out until we get a Representative Republic.

Republican Senate

That's an oxymoron.

Pres. Bush waves at the stupid, comatose, traitorous Senate Republicans lying in coma (and soon to be replaced)
as another waits to be the NEXT POTUS.

Have you seen one GOP party spokesperson, articulate anything other than the RINO line?

I haven't.

Not one.

I'm not sure we could replace them if the party is going to stand in the way, and I'm beginning to think they will.

I think we need a new party.

It seems to me that almost every Senator thinks he/she is the President.

I must admit, Isakson has been a pleasant surprise.

Agreed- when I saw Mel had a hand in this I was furious. I called his office and got into it with the gal who answered. She kept trying to tell me I didn't understand! HAAAAAAAAAA!

Then- come to find out Billiberal Nelson voted RIGHT last week on Ensign just about blew me away. Imagine that? Our Dem senator Nelson voted against the insanity.

Little did I know that my Senator John Warner has been voting for pro-illegal legislation for at least a decade. It never occurred to me to look at his record on the issue until his RINO votes last week.

Clinton is just as guilty as Bush on this issue. A large section of Dims are bound to be disturbed by her votes in the Senate.

The number of probable illegals who come rolling through our General District Court is awesome. They don't have licenses, or they've been scammed into getting "international licenses". They don't have insurance. They plead guilty because they just want to pay the fine and get out, while if there was a trial, their status might come up in the conversation. It's sad for them and frustrating for everyone. Sometimes its fatal for a few. Bad stuff.

I am proud that the Senators from Georgia have consistently voted against citizenship and amnesty.

You are lucky if both your senators are against.

Unfortunately, we South Carolinians have to put up with the most leftest RINO to ever come down the pike, Lind-see Graham (R-SC).

Jim DeMint, OTOH, is reflecting the true conservative principles.

For some reason, they have put the RINO's out in front this year. Susan Collins was chairing every committee. Now this: McCain, Hegel, Martinez. It must be someone's strategy.

I have heard this from other people about Martinez. It's interesting to note that, before he was elevated to the political aristocracy by Bush (pick one; not much difference when it comes to this issue), he opposed amnesty and blah, blah, blah. Now he's a cheerleader for expanding the invasion.

Somebody needs to check the water in Washington, D.C. and find out what is in it that causes a reversal of sanity for every politician we send there!
