My Email on Tawana Two (aka the Duke "rape" case)
Renew America ^ | May 24, 2006 | Michael Gaynor

There's no doubt that many black women were raped by white men in America and never were held liable for it. When slavery was "legal," "rape" was an exercise of a property right instead of a crime. But (1) slavery ended long ago, (2) none of the Duke lacrosse players ever owned slaves, and (3) no innocent person ought to be convicted on a phony rape charge in order to "atone" in some perverse way for slavery or white racism, or as punishment for the stupidity of attending a party at which strippers of whatever color were the "entertainment."

As more and more information becomes public, it looks more and more like the so-called Duke "rape" prosecutions are the result of (1) a false report, or hoax, and (2) a white Democrat attorney's politically motivated decision to secure indictments before a Democrat primary election in which black votes would be decisive, in a transparent attempt to pander to black voters more motivated by emotion than reason.

My last article on the subject elicited plenty of email, much of it thoughtful.

This isn't a Tawana case.

She was hired by certain people and was there with them.

It does not come from thin air as did the Brawley claims.

If the allegations are fabricated, what is the difference?

Ya know, playing the race card at every turn is getting way past old.

"It does not come from thin air as did the Brawley claims..."

and yet Tawana Brawley was never held accountable for her made up claims.

Bull! If it didn't happen, it was fabricated out of thin air.

I think that the case of the Scottsboro Boys in Alabama, though color reversed, is a better analogy here. In that case a white woman made a false rape charge against blacks and the injustice of the trial caused a major fracture in the justice system. The lack of evidence and the obvious attempts by prosecutors to railroad the accused because of their race in order to assuage local fury, look remarkably similar to this case. Nifiong is railroading the "Great White Defendants" to ensure his success in the local general election and to placate the race baiters in the national media.

"This isn't a Tawana case."

You're right. It's worse. It was just imaginary guys with Tawana. This woman is screwing over real live people.

That is a very good point.

This "ho" has the credibility and character of a politican....
NONE...

Does North Carolina allow a jury of "peers", and free from Democrat "Plantation blacks" whose "leaders" and rabble rousers have already convicted the "honkies"?

Those who bring up the 'Masters raping slaves' should look at recent crime statistics. Alleged rapes are mostly Black on Black, White on White; some Black on White; and ALMOST ZERO White on Black.

I would be interested in reading the source of this that the author used.

FWIW, here is a report from the state of Arkansas: Only three of 699 rape cases in 1998-1999 were white-on-black.

http://www.acic.org/acic_pdfs/01/Section3_01.pdf (page 10)

I've seen many references to DOJ and FBI statistics but I couldn't quickly locate any similar tables.

I'm pretty sure this white-on-black rape vs black-on-white rape statistic comes from the 1999 Department of Justice Uniform Crime Report which was still recently accessible on the fbi.gov website. (Not sure it is still there).

CURIOUSLY, (on a different topic here) although Latinos are classified as "latinos" in the Hate Crime "victim" statistics, there is NO classification for "latino" in the Hate Crime perpetrator category. When it comes to perpetrators, "latinos" are lumped in with "whites." There is no such thing, according to the UCR (uniform crime report) of ONE SINGLE hate crime perpetrated by a latino. I saw this GLARING anomaly myself on the fbi.gov website less than a year ago! It is unbelievable. Wonder what the motive is behind this convenient "oversight." Hmmmmmmm.

As per my post above: I asked a latino friend of mine a couple months back why the FBI might classify latinos as "white" in their hate-crime tables. He responded that many latinos are of Spaniard blood, so regardless of language and culture they would still be "white."

HOWEVER, as to why they would conversely be called "latino" in the victim category on the very next page of the report he had no response...

On that point, I went to http://www.rainn.org/ "the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization". They have about every rape statistic available, including the race of the victims. I could find no stats on the race of the perpetrators.

Why would black women be held liable for having been raped by white men? Seriously, if this author has something intelligent to say, he should avoid making boneheaded syntactical mistakes in the first sentence. I stopped reading.

I think the "were never held liable for it" was referring to the white rapists, not the black victims. I'm not that familiar with this writer's previous work but I really don't think he meant to say that rape "victims" should be held liable for the attack. If that is what he meant to convey it is absolutely repugnant, and I can't think of one poster on freerepublic who would support that contention.

That's exactly how I see it. This is much, much worse that the Tawana fraud. She has ruined at least 3 lives and set dozens of others on their ear, all because she's a lying tramp who has used false claims to get her way for a decade.

Neither she nor Nifong will likely even have to answer for what they've done, either.
