Mexican President Vicente Fox is hailing the Senate's passage of immigration reform legislation that contains sweeping new rights for illegal aliens as a reward for Mexicans.
"They fought for it," Fox said Friday at a breakfast meeting with California business leaders. "They earned what they got yesterday," he added.
In a speech to the California legislature after the bill's passage on Thursday, Mr. Fox sounded downright ecstatic.
"Today's historic vote is a monumental step forward," he declared. "This is a moment that millions of [Mexican] families have been hoping for. This is the moment that millions of people have been working for."

I hope the Senate is listening to Vicente Fox today. This is going to burn. We have the president of a sovereign country praising the US Senate for giving about 10 percent of his population welfare on the backs of the US tax payer. If this bill passes as written there will be a people's revolt on election day.

I hope the Senate is listening to Vicente Fox today.
I'm sure they have heard it from him before...personally.

I think that even if they hear it, they won't heed it. They're particularly hard-headed, and the President is urging them to remain t hat way.

I wonder what the Founding Fathers would think of the United States Senate showing more allegiance to a foreign president than to We the People.

Vicente, old sport, I wouldn't be too happy, when we build the wall and close the borders, your peasants will tear you to shreds.

This dude ought to quit while he's ahead.
I wonder how fast Juan McCainez got Fox on the phone to tell him to stfu.

By Fox exporting his poverty to the U.S., he is reducing his country's spending and increasing its income.
And allowing the ruling elite in Mexico to stay in power and keep the permanent underclass in Mexico at bay. Americans should be proud...

That's pretty insightful. When can We start exporting people?
To: Xenophon450
By the time we get around to securing the borders, there will be millions more Mexicans in the U.S., sending billions back to Mexico and Fox will have died of old age.

While I would deplore the situation, I think violence will result from the Senate's actions. How can we expect invaders that break any law freely to confine their protests to words and not riots?

From the Washington Times, March 31:
Mexican President Vicente Fox yesterday promised President Bush that his country will do more to control the U.S.-Mexico border and will strengthen its own southern border to reduce the number of aliens crossing into Mexico to reach the United States. "It is a shared, shared responsibility," Mr. Fox said at the end of a meeting with Mr. Bush at this Mexican resort town. . . .
Mr. Fox said he wants to create more opportunities in Mexico so that Mexicans stay in the country, echoing his foreign minister's comment Tuesday that officials want to make sure future foreign workers return to Mexico, rather than stay in the United States.

Western union Moneygrams sent from the US to Mexican residents by Mexican illegals represent something like 33% of Mexico's gross per capita income.
If these payments were to stop,Mexico would slide into the status of Fourth World country faster than Zimbabwe did.

"I hope the Senate is listening to Vicente Fox today." Screw the Senate -- they are already a lost cause..
I hope AMERICANS are listening, and throw the bastards out of office next time -- all of them.
