Kerry Pressing Swiftboat Case, Long After Loss By KATE ZERNIKE
John Kerry starts by showing the entry in a log he kept from 1969: "Feb 12: 0800 run to Cambodia."
He moves on to the photographs: his boat leaving the base at Ha Tien, Vietnam; the harbor; the mountains fading frame by frame as the boat heads north; the special operations team the boat was ferrying across the border; the men reading maps and setting off flares.
"They gave me a hat," Mr. Kerry says. "I have the hat to this day," he declares, rising to pull it from his briefcase. "I have the hat."
Three decades after the Vietnam War and nearly two years after Mr. Kerry's failed presidential bid, most Americans have probably forgotten why it ever mattered whether he went to Cambodia or that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth accused him of making it all up, saying he was dishonest and lacked patriotism.
But among those who were on the frontlines of the 2004 campaign, the battle over Mr. Kerry's wartime service continues, out of the limelight but in some ways more heatedly — because unlike then, Mr. Kerry has fully engaged in the fight. Only those on Mr. Kerry's side, however, have gathered new evidence to prove their case.
The Swift boat group continues to spend money on Washington consultants, according to public records, and last fall it gave $100,000 to a group that promptly sued Mr. Kerry, a Democratic senator from Massachusetts, for allegedly interfering with the release of a film that was critical of him.
Some of the principals behind the Swift boat group continue to press their claims.

I want him to provide his original military discharge paperwork to the public...the one that "a board of officers" had to convene for to deterimine. There is something very smelly about all of that. He's lying and got a less than honorable discharge, I just know it.
This whole business about what Kerry did or didn't do while in Vietnam was not important to me
It's actually a better reflection of the type of man Kerry was and is. Many adjectives come to mind but the one that keeps surfacing is oportunistic phony. John Kerry is a manufactured plastic man with none of the characteristics of a leader with vision, commitment and integrity.

All of mine went to SBV, are now being sent to help with this suit and will continue to go to SBV. It's a good organization and many of those guys are working long hours for the cause. Kerry has to be challenged to the end of time for what he was, what he did and who he is. Our government didn't have the guts to put him in federal prison but we can help make him pay for his continued aid to the enemy.

John O'Neil dared Hanoi John Kerry to sue him if what John O'Neil was saying was untrue. There was no lawsuit. Hanoi John knows exactly what he did to his fellow servicemen by lying and slandering them and meeting with the communist Vietnamese in secret in Paris in 1972. He is a disgusting POS. The last thing that Hanoi John wants is his military record to be opened up for scrutiny. He was given a dishonorable discharge and had it converted by Jimmy Carter when the draft dodgers were given amnesty in the late 1970's.

Sorry to correct you, but that first word should be spelled with two S's.
He can put this all to rest and disprove any and everything the Switees said by simply signing a SF 180 for FULL AND COMPLETE disclosure of any and all military records pertaining to him from the Records Archives (not the Naval Department, which holds little or no records) open to the entire public, as did George W. Bush.
All this hot air is garbage, Kerry. Just release all of your records to the entire public. That's all it would take to prove the guys wrong. Unless, of course, they were right all along and you need to hide things, like phony medals and a less than desireable discharge.
This was asked for two years ago and so far, all he did was a limited release to 3 reporters sympathetic to him.
We are still waiting, Lurch.
I think it was to his pal and biographer at the Boston Herald, who promptly wrote that the records proved Kerry to be truthful.

Because he's lying that's why. I haven't signed up for the New York Times thing so I couldn't read the article, but I doubt they are telling the real story.
The real story is this, Kerry is suing the Swift boat people for a whole lot of money. They sent me a letter requesting money to help defend themselves a little while ago. Since they are not rich, this is a very traumatic thing for them.
As far as I'm concerned, the purpose of this lawsuit is to show people who stand up against frauds like Kerry that they will be hounded and harassed until the end of time. It's a question of trying to intimidate all conservatives everywhere.
Of course, Kerry would claim it's about his big political career---but from where I sit, that career is over.

He is suing them. They are trying to raise funds for their defense, if anyone is able to help.
