This must be an example of how people think differently about things.

I didn't support the CIC, at that time. I didn't support THAT mission...BUT once the decision was made, once our troops headed into harms way, I was behind it 100%.
You CANNOT support the troops without supporting their mission. The moment you begin splitting those hairs, the criticosm of the mission is an implicit criticism of the troops.

Did you root for your fellow Americans to lose, because that's what motivates these "Troop Supporters"?

We support the troops, but we oppose the mission.
I think it's actually possible to take this as a principled stand if you really do believe the mission is the wrong one, and yet still believe in and love our military men and women. However, when you say crap like this:
We support the troops, but they terrorize women and children in the dark of the night.
then you've shown us your black, uncaring heart.

The point is, the Rats don't support the troops and haven't since the 60s. As I have said so many times before, the Hallmarks of liberalism (Rat party members) are ingratitude and envy.

I hope you know that Kerry was the one saying they terrorize.

Oops, they do support the troops, but, but and but...

Don't worry, SB, Mr. Kerry is a first-class a**hole - and he knows it.
Remember his remark when asked by the press if "that car(an SUV)" was his car? The answer: "No, that's the family's not mine." Even the most liberal reporter in the gaggle smirked at that incredibly stupid answer.
God bless troops an to Hell with Mr. Kerry.

Kerry was nothing but a spoiled brat that never held a real job in his life and he resented the hell out of having to serve. I am sure there will be a warm place by the fire for him.
To: sofaman
Why can't you support the troops by saying what a good job they are doing obeying their orders...yet not agree with the orders?
Criticising the mission, has nothing to do with the troops, they did not create the mission.

How does this work for the troops that are democrats? Do they not support themselves or each other?

I have had some misgivings about making Iraq our next target after Afghanistan -- would have thought Syria or Iran would have been better choices. But I'nm not in charge (thankfully), so what do I know?
But wherever our troops are and no matter whether I or anyone else agrees with their mission, and regardless of whether I like the President or not, those troops have my support and my deepest gratitude for their service.

yep.
Today, on my prayer thread I asked: Please remember to pray for our military. Between dealing with the enemy overseas, and the enemies of the military at home, they need our prayers and good wishes and support.
People with the attitudes your post demonstrates here are why we need to pray like that. We are fighting a war on two fronts (and I'm not talking about the various locations in the Middle East.)

Didn't like the mission, didn't like the CIC, didn't think we had any business being there, but was behind the troops and the mission from the moment they were in harms way.
