Writer facing jail for mosque threat
The Daily Telegraph ^ | June 7, 2006 | Malcolm Moore

The Italian author Oriana Fallaci, who once wrote that Muslims "breed like rats", may be facing up to three years in prison after she vowed to blow up a mosque.

Ms Fallaci, 75, who has cancer, is due to appear in court next week charged with the lesser offence of vilifying Islam, punishable with a £3,450 fine.

But after her latest outburst in the New Yorker last week Muslim leaders are demanding that she be tried for inciting religious hatred, which carries a three-year jail term.

The former journalist, who has said she will not attend Monday's hearing in Bergamo, told the magazine that she intended to destroy a mosque being built at Colle di Val d'Elsa, near Siena.

"I do not want to see a 24-metre minaret in the landscape of Giotto when I cannot even wear a cross or carry a Bible in their country, so I blow it up!" she said. In a trilogy of books published after the attacks of September 11, Ms Fallaci lamented the Islam "invasion" into Europe.

Judge Armando Grasso ruled in a preliminary hearing that Ms Fallaci had made 18 statements "offensive to Islam and Muslims".

Following her most recent comments, Adel Smith, the president of the Italian Muslim Union, said he would press for the sterner charge of inciting religious hatred.

Already happening. In college, one can be charged with "hate speech".

Did she say how she intends to bomb that building? Sounds like tongue in cheek to me as saying something like that guarantees that Italy won't let her near the place.

Actually, she did. If you read the interview, you'll see she was totally serious - but it's the kind of rhetorical bombthrowing typical of this ballsy writer. The woman is a marvel.

Here's what she said:

"If I’m alive, I will go to my friends in Carrara—you know, where there is the marble. They are all anarchists. With them, I take the explosives. I make you juuump in the air. I blow it up! With the anarchists of Carrara. I do not want to see this mosque—it’s very near my house in Tuscany. I do not want to see a twenty-four-metre minaret in the landscape of Giotto. When I cannot even wear a cross or carry a Bible in their country! So I BLOW IT UP! ”

I think it's time for my favorite article:

Tehran -- Iranian cattle farmer Gofauk Yousef Fukir came upon what appears to be one of the most holy of cow pies ever today while tending his herd. It seems his prize Bull Osama plopped out a turd with an uncanny likeness to the most holy prophet, Mohammed.

"This is no ordinary bullsh*t," insisted Gofauk Yousef. "This sh*t is like something directly from Allah above. It hardly even smells. Well, maybe a little. But I haven't bathed in two years, so who can say, yes?"

A team of Iranian bullsh*tologists, dispatched from Tehran university's religious artifacts division was pulled away from evaluating the booty they plundered from the Iraqi museum during the early days of the Iraq / US war to examine Gofauk Yousef's religious crap. After careful study they confirmed that the cow patty did indeed take on the appearance of manure from heaven.

"Holy sh*t! Holy sh*t!!" Gofauk Yousef could be heard calling out to his friends and family, all the while sporting a wide smile befitting someone who had quite literally just stepped in heavenly sh*t, "Pack up the tent. We're going to Disneyland!" This is the profit I've been waiting for from all these years of tending goddamned cows".

EU insanity is not limited to the Italian authorities.

Twice convicted of inciting racial hatred after she criticized the ritual sacrifice of sheep by Muslims during their Eid el-Kebir holy day, Brigitte Bardot is making news again this year for much the same reason. Two French human rights groups took swift legal action against the provocative French screen siren, charging that her latest book Crî dans le silence is full of racist attacks against Muslims—though, of course, Muslims are of all races.

The evidence of her latest offense: Bardot denounces the "Islamicization" of France and blames the degeneration of French society on her country’s liberal immigration laws. "For twenty years we have submitted to a dangerous and uncontrolled underground infiltration," she writes in her new book that became an instant bestseller in France this summer. "Not only does [Islam] fail to give way to our laws and customs. Quite the contrary, as time goes by it tries to impose its own law on us."

Naked facts would seem to bear out BB’s contentions. For example, practically all of France’s 1,200 mosques are funded by foreign governments, and out of the country’s 230 major imams, none is French. According to journalist Christopher Caldwell, "imams are often chosen by foreign governments for loyalty to their ideological priorities," priorities that are decidedly not those of France. Anyone who has been to Marseilles recently will understand what Bardot means by "Islamicization." The Muslim population of France doubled between 1989 and 1998, and if population trends continue, the eldest daughter of Christendom could have a Muslim majority by 2040 or earlier.

...the lesser offence of vilifying Islam.

The greater offence is Islam itself.

"Judge Armando Grasso ruled in a preliminary hearing that Ms Fallaci had made 18 statements "offensive to Islam and Muslims"."

Real good thing we don't have to follow the same rules. 90% of the Freepers would be headed to jail. The Islamists don't do anything to endear themselves to Americans. Amen.

Apples and oranges. What exactly about the Holocaust correlates to speaking the truth about Islam?

Italy should just ban minarets as architectural pollution. Then it becomes an aesthetic question for people who can't handle the truth about TROP.

There are good reasons why Holocaust denial is illegal in certain countries. What aspect of the Holocaust do you wish to debate, "freely?"
