The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops policy paper on its support of illegal immigration
U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops ^ | Walter Ewing

Posted on 06/14/2006 4:52:10 PM PDT by garbageseeker

I am posting this article because very few people know that the Catholic Church is going out of their way to make sure CIRA is the law of the land. The church has supported illegal immigration for many years and they have been active in getting CIRA passed. I also publishing this article in the hopes that the many Catholics who support the House of Representatives would know what their church is doing on the illegal immigration issue in the United States. I really do not think that Roman Catholics know the churches position on this matter.I know that there are many Catholics out there who support the "borders enforcement only" approach, not the approach the pro-illegal immigrant. approach our leaders has taken.

Arguing with a Feeneyite is a waste of time.

Helping people who are misguided is a waste of time? I never learned that in CCD. Maybe you should write to Pope Benedict and tell him, since he is friends with several "Feeneyites" and corresponds with them.

Well thank you. Oh by the way you better make a visit to Mississippi as soon as you can. I noticed that the Goverrnor there wants too follow Gov Huckabee of Arkansas and put the whole state on a diet and to eat healthy.

sinky, that is one of THE most spurious, libelous, patently ridiculous pieces of paranoid, factless garbage about the Freemasons, I have and I have read many.

The aristocracy and royalty in England, hasn't had any "problems" with Masonry since its inception! As a matter of fact, every single king of England has not only been the HEAD OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND, but also, *gasp*, a MASON, since its founding there. So have many members of the ardistoctracy!

As a matter of fact, HRH THE DUKE OF KENT has even written the forward to the book FREEMASONS A CELEBRATION OF THE CRAFT, which was published in 2004.

Freemasonry is NOT a religion, nor even "a kind of religion unto itself"; it is and ALWAYS has been a FRATERNAL ORGANIZATION!

There are NO "vestments" ( you consider white tie and tails or black tie and tuxedos to be "vestments", do you ? LOL ), NO "feast days", and the fact that they see ALL men who are of good character and believe in GOD to be equal has always scared the spit out of the Catholic church!

Actually, it was a rabid, tightly titnfoiled wrapped Roman Catholic priest named Abbe Barreul started the ball really rolling, by publishing a tract that declared the Masons and the *gasp...here we go again* THE JEWS were responsible for the French Revolution.

Okay, so the Catholic church's antipathy for the Masons ( NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND; THE MASONS DO NOT "HATE" NOR DISCRIMINATE AGAINST CATHOLICS ! ) was begun in 1738, by Pope Clement XII, which WAS a political move, rather than a spiritual one.

But gee, lots of Catholics have been Masons; Garibaldi for one and no, he was never excommunicated for being one.

Oh goody......your source used a crazy French NONMASONIC ( the French have had several of them...even one which admitted women, which is a BIG no no in Masonry! )organization as "proof". How splendid.....NOT!

Your entire scurrilous post is so riddled with falsehoods and inaccuracies, that it would be "funny" , if it didn't fuel the lunatic anti-Masonic tinfoilers and just plain old crazies and barking moonbats.

Okay, ugly... CALL OUT THE TROOPS!

Sinkspur was posting the current Catholic point of view about Masons, as he perceived that point of view. As for myself, I don't give a damn, either way, which is why I may be going to hell. Such is life. As a sidebar, I suspect I would find Masonry terminally boring, myself.

Nope. They ingore that far too many people have "jumped the fence", so they are like deer grazing not in the meadow but in the garden.

I couldn't care less what the Catholic church "thinks" about Masons. What I DO very much care about, are the anti-Masonic idiots on FR, who take every advantage they can, in posting such contemptuous, spurious, lies and claptrap about the Masons!

And I shall, till my dying breath, go after each and every such post and ridicule and refute it!

Masonry isn't for everyone, Torie. But it is NOT a "vile" nor "insidious", or "RELIGIOUS" organization and never has been.

And since I do NOT believe that the Catholic church has any say-so in who is and who is not going to hell, that part doesn't matter to me either. :-)

Bump

They are all not educated about the Freemasons and the good it does for society.
Ignorance breeds ignorance and misinformation. They are just afraid that their liberation theology and grip it has on the Catholic church has been exposed in the policy paper.

They are scared to death of Masonry and Masons, yet, it is their very fear, which consigns them to dwell in complete ignorance. It is far easier to believe any idiotic garbage, than to be brave enough to look at and then to digest the facts! That would take not only courage, but intellect.

And what, one wonders will these people do, should they get into heaven, only to find out that Protestants AND Masons are there? LOL

I also very much want to know just WHEN Roman Catholic priests and bishops and cardinals and popes wear white tie and tails, tuxedos, and an apron! :-)

Though not all Masons are Shriners, ALL Shriners ARE high ( 32 or 33 ) degree Masons, I'd also like to know when the last time a pope wore a fez. :-)

It is the Masonic "ideal" of TOLERANCE, which made Pope Clement XII and the French King, Louis XV, uneasy. But, In Prussia, it was King Frederick the great, who introduced Freemasonry into his kingdom! So much for the LIE that "all" of European aristocracy was ever against the Masons. That's two that I've now cited in refutation and will add more, should the need arise.

No, then there would be more ex-Catholics. I've already wised up. A long time ago.

My point was that the Pope won't do that. It is not a matter of Church doctrine whether nations give amnesty to illegal aliens, so varius clergy can say what they want, but they will only be giving the opinions of men. If the Pope ever claims such a thing to be Church doctrine, then the topic will have some weight, and Catholics will have a decision to make. But again, that won't happen.
