Rep. Curt Weldon (news, bio, voting record), R-Pa., chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces, noted that Cher's ex-husband, the late Rep. Sonny Bono, had served on the subcommittee. He called it a "special irony and really great tribute" to have her there. Wonder what Sonny would say?

Wonder what Sonny would say? He held no animosity toward Cher.

Sonny and Cher are/were both very pro American. Cher sometimes does so in misguided ways but she cares about America and average Americans which is more than I can say for most of Hollywood. They both never forgot their humble beginnings.
