All of the above.
I really wish Republicans would stop being so spineless.
Which could still leak their deadly material all over the place. Isn't that what the environmentalists (liberals) were worried about when we wanted to store spent shells in Colorado?
Is it at AP? No. Why is that? Probably because the admin hasn't made an announcement that would create a news report they couldn't avoid. Even if it hits AP doesn't mean CNN will carry it but by it NOT being at AP, CNN has a way out for not covering a Fox generated story.
So the root cause is this WH admin has not made this a big deal for whatever reason. Ask Bush.
The fact is, Iraq was supposed to acknowledge and turn over all WMD according to UN resolutions. The fact that they had these shells is itself a violation--makes no diference when they were manufactured.
500 is not an insignificant number of chemical shells.
Part of the problem stems from the misunderstanding of those in the media of what WMD "stockpiles" might look like. I get the impression that they were looking for acres and acres of 55 gallon drums stenciled with the Skull and Crossbones.
The fact is, you can put enough sarin in a 2-car garage to cover the eastern seaboard. And biological agents take up even less room.
The military considers M-3 grease guns obsolete, too. But they still work.
And, fwiw, I saw drums of toxic chemical stored in weapons bunker in Iraq. It may have been old and 'obsolete' but it was still toxic.
It's already been said by the likes of Rev. Al Sharpton that this could be a "campaign" ploy of Sen. Santorum because he is in a tough re-election campaign.
We'll just have to get the word out best we can with the help of Rush, Sean, Michael Savage, Mike Reagan, Billy O', and even Tucker Carlson who, I think, mentioned it on his show last night.
Well, if the administration has further evidence of WMDs in Iraq then I certainly think they should declassify that immediately, at least so far as announcing what it is (if not where, etc). Otherwise, it's worth noting that IEDs with old chemical munitions have already been discovered in Iraq, and unsurprisingly they didn't work. In fact, I would personally encourage the insurgents in Iraq to use old pre-1991 chemical munitions for all their IEDs, rather than what they're typically using now..
A roadside bomb containing sarin nerve agent recently exploded near a U.S. military convoy, the U.S. military said Monday.
[Theories?]
The MSM never lets fact get in the way of leftwing propandga.
Yeah, sure, I know about this. So 499 more of these things found means nothing? And just because they didn't burst the round and get a toxic spray with that round you think the other ones found wouldn't be a problem? Why, if they're no biggie, bother gathering them up? Why not just give them to the terrorists as you so cavalierly suggest?
(Why isn't this headline everywhere?!?)
You mean to tell me there are people on her who still thinks the truth matteres anymore ? The dumbed down US population feeds off of the MSM and believes whatever they are told. Those of us who actually follow world events and READ are a shrinking minority .The media runs the world PERIOD !
Because the terrorists would not use them in place of what they're using now, but rather in additon to what they're using now. These are not tough questions to figure out if you apply a bit of thought.. Anyhow, if the terrorists would use them in place of what they're using now, then I would absolutely support giving them the old pre-1991 junk.
it is only 500 shells
they are old
they are degraded
it is only 90% effective
and the liberals claim Bush is the one always moving the goal post on Iraq....
Yeah, and you've ridden in how many convoys in Iraq?
What makes you think that the " old pre-1991 junk" is inoperable and safe?
Would you handle those devices?
I've a degraded and old knife too that will cut in a deadly manner. Don't you just hate arguing with these people who refuse to understand?
