WASHINGTON — The United States has found 500 chemical weapons in Iraq since 2003, and more weapons of mass destruction are likely to be uncovered, two Republican lawmakers said Wednesday.

"We have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, chemical weapons," Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., said in a quickly called press conference late Wednesday afternoon.

the left does not believe that these are of any consequence. There are reports that some of these weapons are "degraded" and they are also not the ones that we went to war over, therefore, they are irrelevant.

They just don't want to admit that they were wrong and Bush was right. That concept is just too much for them to bear.

Primarily because they have not found the stockpiles. There are tons of it that was shipped to Syria. The few that have been found are in old warheads. Admittedly they are WMDs, but not the reported stockpiles we went in for. Yeah yeah I know it wasn't entirely about WMDs, but the press has spun its web of deceit and perception is reality.

This was discussed in great detail
last night on Hannity & Colmes.
Colmes and his lady guets pooh-poohing
the whole thing as pre-1991 stuff
which is no longer valid. Hannity
and his guest blistering the Liberals
for sniding Bush and Blair re the WMD
"false info" as entry into war.

The other main point is that only
one page of a much lengthier document
is being released to the public.
If I were making an eduated guess,
I'd say Karl Rove intends to "leak"
little tidbits like this periodically
just to infuriate and undermine the
Democrats as we approach November, 2006.

yeah, right. They are duds.

From http://www.hssinternational.com/code/tactip/tips/tip07.html:

Sarin Gas-

Sarin, a colorless and odorless gas, has the lethal dose of 0.5 milligram for the average adult. It is 26 times more deadly than cyanide gas, with a lethal adult dose of 0.5 milligram (approximately the size of a pinprick droplet).

When released in the air, the vapor is slightly heavier, so it hovers close to the ground. Sarin will degrade much quicker in humid and wet weather conditions. However, as the temperature rises, so does sarin’s lethal duration.

hmm, I don't see any humid and wet weather conditions in Iraq, do you? Dud? I think not...

From MSNBC: "Rep. Jane Harman, D-Calif., says "it's a bit suspicious that this was rolled out the night before" the debate and vote in the Senate on withdrawal from Iraq "by a senator in a close political race."

Santorum is down 18 points in his Senate re-election contest, according to a poll released yesterday."

Yeah, when there's bad news always questions the timing and then the messenger. Right out of the Democratic Playbook.

It's being ignored because the left hates President Bush so much, they may can't accept facts.

It doesn't matter that Saddam was lying all over the place. The only thing that matters to the tin foil hat wearing left is propagating the LIE that Bush lied.

Logic says when every country thought Saddam has WMD that means Bush DIDN"T lie is a reality they don't want to admit.

As far as I'm concerned. It doesn't matter that the WMD may be Pre-Gulf War II. It matters that he lied to the world and said he didn't have something he clearly had.

The loony left is so invested in destroying the President and this country, they would ignore anything that proves Bush is RIGHT.

Right. but during the Klinton years the libs were up in arms over the chemical weapons storage depot near Pueblo, Colorado (I think) and how dangerous and life threatening these weapons were, even though they were from the 1960's or earlier!!

I'll guess!

Because it really doesn't matter?

If there were ICBMs pointed at US - that would be a big deal. But stmbling accross cannisters of chemical weapons that were known to exist in the early 90's is hardly a real threat.

Just an observation.

Media Liberals are far to narcissistic to ever apologize.

Being numb is part of their coping mechanism. Their agenda needs a constant caretaker for survival.

Think of it simular metephorically speaking to the spouse of a drug addict or an alcoholic. If the addict isnt enabled the addict cant carry on with their desease which in this case is liberalism.

When they discovered "defunct" leftover chemical loaded shells from WWI over in NW Washington in the far left American University neighborhood (within the last decade) you'd have thought this stuff was too dangerous to be believed.

All at once the same stuff dug up in Iraq is "defunct" or "inert".

Same people doing the hollering though.

No matter how skillful, word games won't change the fact that sarin begins degrading after a couple months and under optimal storage conditions has a shelf life of 5-7 years at reduced efficacy.

Unless, of course, it's recharged!!!!

So, counting from 2003, when do these things expire?

Remember, these have been coming in from here and there ~ not off the top of a big stockpile.

That's how you hide stuff ~ in plain sight ~ and you keep it fresh when the inspectors are away.

Now, you willing to take a chance and start sipping water filtered through one of those shells?

Yeah, you're right. If they make new sarin, it will be new, and not old..

So, counting from 2003, when do these things expire?

Counting from 2003, or any other year, they will begin degrading within a couple months, and under optimal storage conditions have a shelf life of 5-7 years. Since these were hardly found in optimal storage condition, then counting from 2003 they would probably be inert already, although I don't see why you'd count from 2003 when they are actually from pre-1991.

Remember, these have been coming in from here and there ~ not off the top of a big stockpile.

Oh please. Get a clue. If WMDs were "coming in from here and there" the terrorists in Iraq would be using them. And they wouldn't be storing them in pre-1991 canisters either.

That's how you hide stuff ~ in plain sight ~ and you keep it fresh when the inspectors are away.

Yeah, uh huh. Sure. Whatever.

Now, you willing to take a chance and start sipping water filtered through one of those shells?

These days I won't even sip water out of a glass with just dishwasher streaks on it. So the answer is no.

So what's the point? These WMD are not significant. The recovery of "approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent" that could have found their way into terrorists hands--terrorists who want to use chemical weapons in the NY subway system--sounds significant to me. In any case, I thought Saddam said he had destroyed all of his weapons of mass destruction.

1.) These weapons are not "defunct". 2.) while it is true the finding of SOME weapons(not necessarily the ones Santorum is talking about), that take years and years to become defunct because they use two seperate chemical ingredients to activate, were announced, the MSM made very little of them and disregarded them because they didn't want to admit there was truth in what Bush was saying.

It bears repeating that we found WMDs in Iraq.

of course we Marines don't ask the Corpsman "how 'old' that bomb was that just blew off my leg?"

ya know if any on these clowns in the media had ever served a day in combat they would know that "old" ordinance can kill you just as easily as "new!"

A day doesn't go by that my tagline doesn't apply to some ignoramus in the media.

I wish someone would ask Alan Colmes if we can store this "old" WMD in his garage? LMAO
