Why I Am a Republican (by Ben Stein)
The American Spectator ^ | June 26, 2006 | Ben Stein

Posted on 06/26/2006 9:29:40 AM PDT by EveningStar

...Karl Rove is why I am a Republican. He is how Republicans are...

The real Republicans are the hardware store owners in Little Rock, the factory workers in Kentucky who believe in life, the retired aerospace workers in Palm Desert who are concerned about the moral decay of the culture...

Real Republicans are not haters. Not ever. It's just not in them to hate, just as it's not in any real American to hate any other American who lives within the law...

Ben Stein has always been one of my favorite people. His best pieces, I always thought, were the ones about his family. Wonderful stuff.

Absolutely one of a kind person.   Ben Stein is what Sean Hannity would call a "Great American."   A very learned, and rational down to earth thinking person.   He's the kind of guy that can call it like it is, while poking you in the eye, and afterwords you feel good about it.

The question is oxymoronic.

Non-judgemental and hate are hardly compatable.
