It's Swiftboating Season
Rocky Mountain News ^ | Mike Rosen

During her husband's presidency, Hillary Clinton liked to complain about persecution at the hands of the "vast right-wing conspiracy." She took for granted, of course, ideological support from the dominant liberal mass media. Ever short on reasoned rebuttal, liberaldom has now come up a new buzzword to rationalize legitimate criticism. It's "swiftboating." A recent letter to the editor from a livid Boulderite (where else?) complained that, "University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill is clearly the latest focus of a 'swift boat'-style campaign. Each of us should be asking ourselves, 'Who's next?' " She then went on to lambaste the Rocky Mountain News for participating in this "specious attack."

In light of Monday's announcement

FACTS with actual names and faces to back them up. Not the lib version of 'anonymous' or 'protected' sources. What a bunch of imaginary friends these libs have. They must have all been toilet trained at gunpoint!! Oh wait, they don't believe in guns. Someone must have held a Bible to their heads. That would certainly traumatize the lot of them.

Someone who acts like Ward Churchill did should get what Ward Churchill got.

To your half-point added, then subtracted, I would also minus him out the value of the lives he put in jeopardy through his actions while in 'nam.

I can't put a number on it, though. He's just way down there in the sinkhole of history on this one.

The one who wrote to the editor seems to think that swiftboating is a group of people ganging up on an unfortunate victim to deny the vic the right to keep doing illegal / questionable deeds.

Absolutely! Having your name referenced with anything resembling "swiftboat" is akin to being involved in a "...gate". It is not a good thing.

LOL That is for sure. And that is one point I didn't make about all the movies. How dangerous is it to be in hostile territory having your men make movies of you like a WWII General storming the beaches of Normandy or something. I just think it shows a really sick desire for power. It is just too weird that he seemed to know that he needed all of this to build himself up for his future goals. Yep, I'll just say 10 on the slime point scale.

Wow. Not only has the left made "swiftboating" a dirty word, they are using it to defend ward "Tonto" churchill. The irony of that is astounding.

One might easily say that John F. Kerry is All Camera and No Development.

Yes, and it makes it even more odd that a guy who likes the camera so much hooks up with a bridge troll for a wife. I guess money trumps ugly.

Yes I can imagine....and we all can be glad that didn't happen. The Dims prop him up and up and it doesn't change the time, place or what happened a long time ago. A hero he isn't. I doubt they will run Kerry or Gore again because they are both losers.

Ward Churchill is a carney barker who found suckers to make himself rich.

"The Swift Boaters clearly stated that Kerry LEFT the scene when the shooting started."

"Cut and run" Kerry showing his talent at an early age!

The press so hates the Swiftees for A) doing their job for them; B) showing them to the the liberal hacks they are; and C) torpedoing their annointed candidate, that they will never forgive them. This is just the continuing revenge campaign against them.

Kerry had every opportunity to quickly and completely snuff out the Swiftees if he were telling the truth: releasing his full military and medical records. The very fact that he did not (and promised to on the air) and continues to hold them secret simply demonstrates the validity of the Swiftee claims.

An honest and truly objective media would show that, but they would rather run baseless and contrived headlines about the President for months and months rather than address the Kerry question.

As for Churchill, growing your hair long does not make you an Indian chief. He, like Kerry, failed utterly to prove his claims by any reasonable means, and as such, both needed to be shown for the fakes they are.

At least Churchill only scammed the system to get tenure. Kerry would have scammed the country for power and personal gain, and ruined the country in the process.

John O'Neil and the rest of the Swiftees are true American heroes, and I was proud to donate to their efforts. Best investment I ever made.

Thank you, gentlemen, for your service to your country once again.

"Kerry would have scammed the country for power and personal gain, and ruined the country in the process."

And look how close he came to taking the presidency. Our forefathers would not believe how screwed up the people have become. The Swift Boaters saved this country, and that is the bottom line. If they don't stand up and tell the truth, we are looking at ppressidiidee,, crap, I can't even say it.
Not to mention, the first lady would have been the nastiest ho bag in the history of the U.S.
