Can a Green Card holder own a hand gun here in the US?
With the exception of the .380, none of these weapons are suitable for concealed carry. They're all too big.
Do not forget the 1911 45 ACP. Big Fat Slow Bullets do it better.
I noticed you jumped from a 9mm to a 40 cal . I have a Colt 38 Super (Panther), best gun I ever owned. Not only does it hit with the wallop of a 357 ( b/c it uses +P ammo ),it has little recoil and the clip holds 10 with 1 in the chamber. With the 5 in. barrel, I can get off long, accurate shots.
What UN army is going to take our guns away? They can't even prevent atrocities in 3rd world countries when they are standing there watching it.
"Since most of my readers are seeking pistols lately, rather than revolvers,"
Since when did revolvers stop being pistols? Pistol is a generic term for a firearm normally held in one hand, with a short barrel. A pistol could be a single-shot firearm, a revolver, or a semi-automatic. Some pistols are even full-auto. All are pistols.
Perhaps the nomenclature has changed somehow in my lifetime, but I don't think so.
Ruger 10/22 ????(it's a rifle).... maybe he meant 22/45
Any caliber that begins with a "4" is a good start. I bought a Les Baer 1911 Thunder Ranch in .45ACP in hard chrome finish for serious work. Beginners really ought to consider a revolver for their first pistol.
Perhaps Mike needs to try a circa 1832 musket. These weapons were used to great effect in the massacres of Mormons in the mid 1800's. A job Mr. Adams obviously desires to continue today.
