I can't believe a man sold his home and donated the $120,000 to Simcox because he believed in the cause. ! And Simcox took it, and used it for what? A pay raise?

Bears repeating.

"Read and apologize.

Apologize for what? Asking someone to show why we shouldn't believe the ABC report?

You have to admit, your "evidence" is not that convincing when your article admits that the fence that has been built so far is not the one that is advertised, and "...it is not just the group’s rivals who are skeptical of the fence plan."

Wanna try again?"

Well beleive what you wish. I dont beleive a non-local ABC station from Phoenix. Tucson is much closer and it has not made media reports here. The SV Herald was probably reporting after reading the posted threads here. There are a substantial amount of Freepers in Sierra Vista and Tucson.

Here is a quote from Tammy8

"This is what locals (ranchers and others that live in the area) told me: Rancher Ladd was in total support of the Minutemen and had been helping them in many ways, Ladd agreed to be the first ranch for the new border fence. When the fence design was completed, Ladd was still in support. Initially there was an outcry against a fence of that type from the media and even some locals (OBL) Ladd ran backwards and said he had not agreed to a fence of that type on his ranch, he had only agreed to a fence. As I understand it this happened at the 11th hour so the MM built the fence to please Ladd as he had been a great supporter. Ladd just got cold feet in the face of the fallout and MM tried to appease him.

If that is what happened, I think they probably should have moved on to the next ranch and told Ladd that the designed border security fence was the only one they would build- but they chose not to do that. I don't think they intended to fraud anyone and I have heard there are plans to "beef" up the fence built on the Ladd ranch at a later point."

So, you can call Simcox a fraudster all you want and quote from SPLC and competing organizations, it still will not convince me. The donations are going to a 502(c)(4) organization that has to report to the IRS and has limits on what officials can take for their duties. Simcox's organization has posted email addresses and phone numbers, why dont you call and ask instead of posting unsubstantiated opinions on a public forum? Why dont you call the organization and ask? All the MM organizations have had procotlogical examinations from the ACLU, Open Borders Organizations, Local and National Press Organizations and individuals. People whining they did not get situational awareness of events and porta-Potties when they wanted them sounds to me like sour grapes.

Your insistence on a higher standard for the MM than the National Republican organizations who hire Muslims, attend racist LaRaza events and slime anyone who insists on enforcement of existing laws and borders is frankly quite pitiful. Your and others posting your psychological projections of racism and fraud does not apply to organizations you wish to be allied with, yet you dont demand instant accounting of all funds from them - even when they are allied and take monies from Soros and businesses that do not have the best interests of citizens at heart.

The information is out there, you just have to look and ask; it's no secret.

I have to live and deal with daily reports of what the illegals do criminally and have to pay for their medical and imprisonment costs because existing immmigration laws are not enforced.

If you want to whine because some volunteers are not doing exactly what you wish; consider the source of the information you are getting, try and find the information you need and dont slime them because they dont respond immediately to a 4 month old partial report from 4 months ago.

The article from the SV Herald fully backs up what I was saying. It's sour grapes from competing organizations. This organization does not release press releases to every moonbat leftist or rightist allegation and they dont have to. If you are worried about fraud, call the AZ attorney general or the IRS, or call or email the organization yourself and find the information out.

You are too quick to assing malicious motivation to a conservative border organization which runs on volunteers and donations, doing something the FEDGOV should have been doing for the last 20 Years. If it pisses you off that is what they intend.

That's just it. We haven't heard about this. Simcox has had plenty of time to clear this up. Did you watch and listen to those good people trying to make a difference at the border? Aren't you angry that possibly millions in donation money sent to Simcox for the purpose of securing parts of the border is unaccounted for? Frankly, you and other border screamers here should be disgusted and call Simcox out. Why aren't you doing that? Put pressure on him to open the books and show where the money has been spent.

NU, I noticed that you haven't replied to this post, yet have seen fit to make replies to other, less important posts that came after it. I strongly agree with Rex, and I'd bet he'd call me a border screamer as well (although I don't post much about it).

You know, that whole pesky evidence thingy again.

Ok - let's assume that this whole thing is a lie (and I would LOVE it to be!). May 27 was awhile ago. The best offense is a defense - did they not have any knowledge that this was coming?

I would think they could have posted pre-lims or a summary or SOMETHING to defuse this. It's highly troubling, and I strongly believe in the cause.

Either way, he must disclose his finances since he's accepting contributions from the public.

Bears repeating as well!

I was down at the ground breaking this past weekend. I am a registered Minuteman and proud to be associated with such great people and the cause we fight for. I have a little problem with the truthfulness in advertising our fence. Many people have given money to build a fence that is shown on the website and toughted as " Isreal Design" which has slowed terrorism 95%. I helped pound in approx. 20 light duty cattle guard/ agrcultural style posts and strung up barbed wire per Rancher Ladd. If any one can comment on this I would appreciate it as getting a hold of a Minuteman official is so hard to do. The general public might get a little peaved as I am at the money going to something OTHER THAN ADVERTISED. sorry for yelling but I like to do what I say I'm going to do. This "last minute change" in design will slow um up but not good enogh.

John

As was WIDELY reported, the rancher--because of his cattle--wanted to modify the design. The trenches and concertina wire as presented in the original design were not conducive to healthy cattle. We deferred to his request for a modification in design which is much more inexpensive and will have the requisite vehicle barriers to stop the drug dealers from crashing through in their vehicles. We will defer to the ranchers' request, but NEVER defer to the government's mandates on fencing on private land.

That said, we have three more land owners nearby in Arizona who have agreed to the full-blown security fencing and we are breaking ground in a matter of weeks--as soon as the steel can be fabricated and delivered."

Thanks, OWF. That's the same freeper who last week just kept posting the words liar, liar over and over and over until the mods pulled the thread. When challenged to provide one instance of a lie I've told, the impotent King of Baseless Charges couldn't do it, naturally. LOL

People whining they did not get situational awareness of events and porta-Potties when they wanted them sounds to me like sour grapes.

The only reason port-a-potties was ever mentioned is because Chris Simcox told the reporter, on camera, that that was one of the things the money collected (1 mil?) went. He also said, on camera, that the donations went for food to feed the volunteers. So the reporter went to the border, asked volunteers where the port-a-potties were, and was told there have never been any. Also, volunteers have to pay for the food they eat. They even showed a sign: $3.75 for breakfast.

And now Simcox wants another 55 million?

I trust Bush on this issue, but I am wondering why you're using a left-wing source.

For the same reason I posted a link to a right-wing source. That was where the information is.

If you look in their own training manual - It says what will be provided, (P19-20)

http://www.minutemanhq.com/pdf_files/training_manual2.pdf

It says the sponsoring chapter will provide some things and porta-potties. It does not say food is provided.

It looks from the manual, you provide your own lodging and food; the chapter you are sponsored from is supposed to coordinate supplies, directions, porta-potties.

There's a $50 fee for a background investigation on volunteers. Maybe they are irked about that?

Still sounds like sour grapes to me.

Was the reporter joined up as a Minuteman and associated with a chapter?

I highly doubt it.

The trenches and concertina wire as presented in the original design were not conducive to healthy cattle.

Could or some other knowledgeable person explain to me why a different type of fence is not healthy for the cattle? TIA.

For Pete's Sake, weezle, those volunteeres were there for the cause, and it cost them much more than $50 to pack up their lives and head to the border.

One of the volunteers in the report actually opened donation letters. He knew the amount that came in and ~went missing~ somewhere other than the border.

How much is Simcox being paid? How much goes to others as salaries?

They are asking others to sacrifice for the cause, to the point of one man donationg the $120,000 procedes on the sale of his home.

There are too many people making money from the whole border control cottage industry, I afraid.

Ask their spokesperson, Connie Hair, A former freeper Clinton's a Liar, BTW, to provide you with the information you seek or to a reference to their organization and spending/financial documents. If they do not give them to you I would be surprised.

As I said before, if these folks are so pissed off about their donations they can go the the AZ attorney general and
file a complaint.

Please show where I called Simcox any names at all.

Please show where I "quoted SPLC and competing organizations". I didn't.

I asked for evidence that the assertions in the video were untrue, and so far no one has been able to do anything but call me names for asking.

Your insistence on a higher standard....Your and others posting your psychological projections of racism and fraud....[blah blah blah]

Maybe you were reading someone else's posts. I merely asked for evidence.

I'm far away from those fences and I can't see them for myself, but the "evidence" presented by Simcox's supporters so far appears pretty damning.

So far I've seen no pictures of an Isreali-style fence being erected, but I've seen a lot of name-calling, impugning of motives, and accusations that one must support terrorists if one doesn't support Simcox.

You can't find one picture where they have really begun construction on that fence they were supposed to have at least partially finished by now?

Yes - the core group is the Declaration Foundation. The alliance is probably a PAc, 527 or a 501 c4
