Keep in mind that the 12th district is not at all a "safe" Democrat district. Kerry won it over Dubya with only 51% in a state Ketchup-boy won. Over the years Murtha has developed bi-partisan local support due to him being pro-life, a bring home the bacon guy, and seen as a hawk. His constituency is evenly divided politically. But they are heartland folks who likely resent his trashing Marines and our whole WOT effort. As long as Irey stays competitive, and we scare up some dollars for her, he is very threatened. The people will just dump him out on his lard bucket.
