BootMurtha launches PA District 12 Vets Mailing Goal

Retired Captain Larry Bailey and his newly formed group Veterans For The Truth (VFTT) have launched a "Boot Murtha Project" to redeploy Rep. John Murtha (D-PA). The first salvo in their campaign is to reach approximately 18,000 veterans in Murtha's 12th District of Pennsylvania.

That's a lot of veterans!

Bailey said, "Congressman Murtha has told these veterans many things during his 38-year political career – about himself, about our military, about how 'good' he is for them.

"But who's telling them the real facts? Certainly not John Murtha and certainly not the pro-Murtha, cover-up-Murtha's-messes Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Philadelphia Inquirer or the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat!"

So, the people at BootMurtha believe the veterans in Rep. John Murtha's PA District 12 deserve to know the truth about their Congressman. With Murtha's re-election rapidly approaching this Nov. 7th, it is important to arm the veterans in Murtha's 12th district with the facts. In this way, they can help change the outcome of the election.

"They can not only change the outcome in the 12th district of Pennsylvania, they can also change the outcome in the nation by helping to keep Murtha home defending his seat. In this way, he will not be able to travel around the country spreading his pre-trial convictions of our soldiers and his cut-and-run policies," Bailey said.

Boot Murtha has set out to raise funds to mail every veteran in the 12th District "The Truth About Murtha."

It will cost less than two quarters per veteran to accomplish the goal. It will also take time and effort by many folks. Boot Murtha believes that Pennsylvania veterans gave their best for our country and now we need to do likewise for them.

The goal of $7,750.00 has been set to accomplish the mailing. Boot Murtha is seeking the help of fellow concerned citizens to reach that goal. Target date for receiving the needed funds is July 14th.

Time is short!

Please contribute what you can and help us spread the word about this. Each contribution, no matter its size, is greatly appreciated.

Individuals are urged to check the BootMurtha.com homepage daily for updates on the progress being made to reach the goal!

According to the 2000 census there are 78,000 vets in the 12th district. This represents 15.3% of the voting age population. 15.3% is a very high number compared to many other congressional districts.

"I watched that event on TV. Cried most of the way through it

I did also. Both watched and cried, especially when that nurse (whose name escapes me) related her story about the baby girl they saved.

Had worked with Bailey and others to set this event up and my elderly Mom (who has since passed) was sick at the time and I could not leave her though I desperately wanted to be there.

Welcome to the "real world," thanks and God Bless you.

And it isn't again until the end of the month, meaning the date you signed up. The 13th for me, if I remember correctly.
