BOB NOVAK, My Leak Case Testimony: 'I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America'... MORE Published reports that I took the Fifth Amendment, made a plea bargain with the prosecutors or was a prosecutorial target were all untrue... MORE... My primary source has not come forward to identify himself... Bill Harlow, the CIA public information officer who was my CIA source for the column confirming Mrs. Wilson's identity. I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America'... I answered questions using the names of Rove, Harlow and my primary source... I considered his wife's role in initiating Wilson's mission, later confirmed by the Senate Intelligence Committee, to be a previously undisclosed part of an important news story. I reported it on that basis.

Brit kept pushing Mort for why would Mort STILL think there was a conspiracy to hurt Wilson...which is what the whole investigation was based on...and Mort just kind of sat their with his mouth open..
He did say that it was an "offensive" move by the White House..which Fred and Brit pointed out is not true..they were playing defense against the editorial that Wilson wrote, calling the information in Bush's SOU address a LIE.
Even poor Mara was trying to say that there still is a "there" there...
But, Brit said he can't see NOW that there ever was a reason for an investigation..
Mort and Mara disagreed...and Brit said, "Well, we will have Bob here tomorrow night..and hopefully he can clear this up"...
SO FUNNY!
I'm rather late to this thread. Did/will Novak out Wilson as the source? (Thanks)

Mort seems to have forgotten that Joe Wilson, in his op-ed, "gave the impression" that Cheney arranged for him to go to Niger.

Wilson's wife sent him, a fact that doesn't disclose her name, only the fact that stealth forces in the CIA were out to undermine the President.

STAR...the last part of that quote you posted pretty much is a non-sequiter with the first part...
IOW...who/what/where regarding Valerie Plame's name being exposed shouldn't have anything to do with the whose responsiblity it was to put those 16 words in the SOTU address...IMHO.
The primary source was someone else and the name was found and confirmed by Wilson's entry in Who's Who's In America
What a farce that was.

What I don't understand is why didn't Novak reveal this before now? Since it wasn't a "secret source". Actually it wasn't a secret at all, he could have revealed the source as being the Who's Who which anyone can get a copy of and avoided Libby's indictment etc.why would he allow all those people to be investigated?
