"I hope Iran heard this clearly."

I don't believe the Iran regime will hear anything until the bombs start falling.

A statement by the Russian government added, however, that Israel should “show restraint and a cool head, not permit the destruction of a civilian infrastructure in Lebanon and refrain from the disproportionate use of force.”

Yes I agree with Russia and their example of dealing with islamic terrorist...Israel should be just as restrained as Russia has been in Chechnya.

"...and as outlined by the GC, will be executed. He'll never do it, but that would be the right thing to do. Our military needs to just execute these terrorists and take no prisoners if the President is going to just give in to the Democrats and world libs who demand things that the GC do not provide or require from signatory nations."

Just as a matter of clarification, I don't think the GC says you have to or may execute illegal combatants.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
July 12, 2006

Statement on Condemnation of Hizballah Kidnapping of Two Israeli Soldiers

Today Hizballah terrorists operating from Lebanon kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and launched rocket attacks against civilian targets in Israel. The United States condemns in the strongest terms this unprovoked act of terrorism, which was timed to exacerbate already high tensions in the region and sow further violence. We also hold Syria and Iran, which have provided long-standing support for Hizballah, responsible for today's violence. We call for the immediate and unconditional release of the Israeli soldiers.

Hizballah's terrorist operations threaten Lebanon's security and are an affront to the sovereignty of the Lebanese Government. Hizballah's actions are not in the interest of the Lebanese people, whose welfare should not be held hostage to the interests of the Syrian and Iranian regimes. We reiterate the international community's insistence that all parties in the region fulfill their obligations under UN Security Council resolutions 1559 and 1680, and cease all support for Hizballah.

No, the current Israeli government is too "moderate" (read: leftist) to actually do what should have been done already, IMO. And Tehran should be a smoldering ruin by now if the Israeli government had the stones to do what is necessary, but no, Olmert will do nothing and Iran will soon have nukes.

Softness is what I expected from Olmert too, but I have to say thus far he's looking a heck of a lot stronger than Sharon did over the past 2-3 years.

I love the Israeli policy. They go in kick a$$ and DON'T apologize. Why should they apologize for defending their right to exist? Maybe the US could learn a few things from them.

>>Now Fatah and Hamas are hand in hand united against the common enemy. Israel's being played. Now Fatah and Hamas are hand in hand united against the common enemy. Israel's being played.

That sounds accurate. But let's hope Israel sees through it and simply destroys both of them, finally. We should lend them some B52's with lots and lots of dumb bombs. No point in wasting the smart stuff. If we're lucky ALL the palestinians will voluntarily move to Syria and Egypt to escape the bombing.

MY WAR PREDICTION:

Israel going after Hamas in Gaza was calculated to provoke Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Israel going into Lebanon is calculated to draw in Syria.
The US has not reigned in Israel.

THEREFORE, I THINK THE US AND ISRAEL HAVE WORKED THIS SCENARIO OUT IN ADVANCE:

Israel will go to Beirut.
Syria will be forced to try to move Saddam's WMD to use on Israel which we will see.
Israel will go to Damascus.
US will go through Syria to the Bekah Valley for the WMD.
With Syria dismembered, we will have our backs clear to face Iran.

Sounds like a good plan to me :-)
