Val, Joe: Time to Fold Em' When Even Larry O'Donnell Says Your Case 'Very Weak'
Countdown/NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Valerie? Joe? Are you listening? Let me offer some well-intentioned advice. When liberal Larry O'Donnell - he of the infamous anti-Swifty meltdown, goes on Keith Olbermann's Countdown and calls your lawsuit 'very weak' and even the Olber-meister won't ride to your defense, its time to fold your tent, toss in your hand, throw in the towel and quietly slink away. This has to go down as the bigggest busted flush of a lawsuit-cum-publicity stunt in recent memory.

Let's put it this way. Zinedine Zidane would have a better shot suing Materrazi for bruising his forehead with his chest.

Earlier in the show Olbermann had exhumed John Dean, who hasn't found the anti-Republican cause he won't support. But while Dean predictably rooted the Wilson-Plames on, even then Keith himself was circumspect, asking rather than asserting whether the star couple had a strong case.

When Dean departed, O'Donnell came on and absolutely savaged the suit: "I think this is a very weak case. . . I think they're going to have a lot of trouble keeping this case in court. I think the [defendants have] a very, very strong case in going for dismissal." Yikes!

Tellingly, Olbermann breathed not a word in support of the suit's bona fides.

In a way, it's almost a shame this case will never see the light of trial. Can you imagine the cross-examination on the issue of damages? If anything ever plucked Wilson-Plame from obscurity and made them Vanity Fair stars and rich to boot, it was the very 'outing' of which they now complain. Karl, Dick: please disclose my identity: I'm beggin' you!

Judge Napolitano on Fox was laughing at this suit. The suit is about a soundbite. The Wilsons need one so Valerie can get
a big book deal. The need the case or ,idea of one, still active to cash in.

The DUmmies will NOT be pleased with THIS development! They were whooping it up, thinking this was the Fitzmas gift they were deprived of, so to hear the smirking one and the screamer telling them it ain't happenin' well, they'll either start with the "America died today" posts again, or else start claiming O'Donnell and Olberforehead are Rove plants.

This lawsuit is a heaven-sent. I've been praying for the day that we'd get these 2 lying, pompous, treasonous scumbags on a witness stand. The Wilson's ego trip is about to end in a spectacular crash.

From KOS, released by Wilson in the 3rd person:

"Robert Novak, some other commentators and the Administration continue to try to completely distort the role that Valerie Wilson played with respect to Ambassador Wilson's trip to Niger. The facts are beyond dispute. The Office of the Vice President requested that the CIA investigate reports of alleged uranium purchases by Iraq from Niger. The CIA setup a meeting to respond to the Vice President's inquiry. Another CIA official, not Valerie Wilson, suggested to Valerie Wilson's supervisor that the Ambassador attend that meeting. That other CIA official made the recommendation because that official was familiar with the Ambassador's vast experience in Niger and knew of a previous trip to Africa concerning uranium matters that had been undertaken by the Ambassador on behalf of the CIA in 1999. Valerie Wilson's supervisor subsequently asked her to relay a request from him to the Ambassador that he would like the Ambassador to attend the meeting at the CIA. Valerie Wilson did not participate in the meeting.

As the CIA itself has officially confirmed, Valerie Wilson did not send Ambassador Wilson to Niger and she neither suggested him nor recommended him for the trip. Furthermore, the Ambassador agreed to travel to Niger pro bono with only his travel expenses being paid."

It's hilarious to see the left fractured like this.

One moonbat shoots down the argument of another moonbat.

My guess: 'True Believers' decided to file suit, with the Plame/Wilsons just going along for the ride (because they had to). What gets interesting is the discovery phase, in which the general public gets educated as to how much baloney there is in the the Joe Wilson sandwich.

Actually, considering the cost of Wilson's trip to Niger..and all of the expenses of Fitzy..

I think Plame/Wilson OWE the American people to have to go through with this lawsuit..and have to testify.

I WANT to see Wilson on the stand..and have to answer about a gazillion questions. I also want to see Chrissy Matthews, David Corn, Timmy Russert, Andrea Mitchell..all on the witness stand.

We are OWED the truth...the truth about who put them up to this "shakedown".

Wilson (CIA leaker and braggart):
"We will sue anyone and everyone for not stopping ME
from telling Kerry, Novak, 'Who's who', my exwife at the French Embassy,
TIME/LIFE, other magazines, and anyone else who would listen to my bragging about my
secret-agent third wife. They should have stopped me. They are responsible for my leaking info
her secret (wink wink) work behind a desk at the CIA, and about her getting me a job to bag Bush for Kerry.
Besides, we both now need the money for her Armani dresses and her antidepressant drugs.

The general public has, I think, a pretty good idea. It's the media working like crazy to try to float Joe's leaky boat, the same way they've been frantically trying to alter reality by claiming the Dixie Chicks are still "popular."

Even John Kerry was embarrassed when the 9/11 commission hearings exposed Joe Wilson as a two-bit con man. Kerry fired Wilson from his campaign "national security" advisor role and pulled Wilson's absurd "Restore Honesty" web site Kerry was bankrolling. Here's the link:

The statute of limitations for at least one of the Plame claims ran out today (3 years since Novak's column was published), which is why they had to file the suit even though it is weak sauce. I'm sure they were less than thrilled that they had to do it the day after Novak dropped a big old cowpie right in the middle of their fantasy.

Wilson Niger trip was a total comedy. Here's another link:

http://www.nationalreview.com/babbin/babbin200310070826.asp

Wilson was quoted after the Plame "leak" that he was pondering who would play him and his wife in a movie about his adventures. I think Mike Myers could play Wilson well.

It is an artsy picture, designed to give Lefty Boomers the chance to re-live the McCarthy days, through their heros.

Unfortunately, it just looks like something you'd see in a really bad, pretentious, undergraduate, photo exhibition. Or the caricature of a cover of an alternative weekly newspaper, in any Blue city in America.

The CIA setup a meeting to respond to the Vice President's inquiry. Another CIA official, not Valerie Wilson, suggested to Valerie Wilson's supervisor that the Ambassador attend that meeting.

It's clear Democrats don't have an even passing acquaintance with the truth.

If I recall correctly, Senator Roberts said that the Bipartisan Senate Committee looked at this and were given minutes of the meeting in which Valerie suggested her husband be given the assignment to travel to Niger.

Isn't it true that Wilson was never an actual Ambassador? I seem to recall that his highest position was some sort of assistant at the embassy in Gabon, and that his repeated references to himself as "ambassador" is more evidence of a genuine pathology rather than just an ego run amok.
