That's a beautiful memorial with a wonderful quote. Only now my screen is blurry.

Thanks so much for sharing the pictures. The grave is so touching, and AF One is just majestic!

Thomas, thank you for starting this thread and for posting the lovely photos. It was good to meet you!

RonDog, thank you for all your good planning efforts. It was a great day despite the 110 deg heat. The heat yesterday made it a bit surprising that so many could make it to the library.

It sounds like such a great day ... glad you all got to go. How long is the drive from southern CA? The property looks just gorgeous .. I'd love to visit some day.

"...They just happened to be in town that day for a leadership seminar, and had already made plans to be at the Reagan Library, AND at the Elephant Bar afterwards -- independently from us, without either group's prior knowledge -- at EXACTLY the same time!"

That is amazing! They were a friendly group, too.

I'm crying and I'm just looking at the picture! RIP, Mr. President Reagan.

FWIW, if CA-FReepers plan another one of these next year (or later), please consider publicizing it early enough that those of us in fly-over country might be able to attend.

I hope to get to the Reagan Library someday. Combining that trip with a FReeper party would really be awesome!

Great pictures! I sure wish I could have gone.

Could you or Synchro ping me to the after action pictures when you post them, please?

It was GREAT seeing JimRob, Chris, and Sheila again. And RonDog. And it was great meeting Onyx, Syncro, SoCalPol, ThomasThomas, EveningStar, hanta-yo, etc. Those are the names I recall. My husband and I had not been to the library in years. Anyone who lives in or visits So. Cal. you should go see it. It is so full of history and it is very uplifting to recall the Reagan years.

Air Force One in that HUGE three story room is just amazing. I am glad we got to walk throug it. After just flying to Italy on vacation last month, I can say I would LOVE flying in Air Force One. The three of us were cramped into tiny seats in coach class. My 22 year old son is a 200 lb body builder and he was really squashed! They also had Reagan's limo and Marine One.

We left early to go to Malibu, then to Pasadena. Went to outdoor concert there, INCENDIO. Once the sun went down it cooled off and we had a great time. We had a super fun day! All of you take care!

Amy,

I thought that it was written in the FR contract that when other FR groups "borrow" Jim from The Fresno Freepers they have to post a thread about it, AND they have to ping us to said thread.

OH well, I guess that they didn't get the memo.

LOL!
Sorry! Not to worry, though.
THIS is just the preliminary "Live from the FReep" thread...
...Syncro will be posting the actual "after action" thread - with MANY MORE photos -- soon...
...and we will ping EVERYBODY to THAT thread. :o)

The Reagan Library is truly a Freeper shrine. I love visiting there, and in 2004, it was great seeing the parking lot filled with cars emblazened with "W" stickers.

Rest assured many across the country, if they are like me, are SO envious of your tour through this wonderful place. I am happily looking at the Reagan Ranch calendar as I read this. If ever I get to California, this place is a must-see!

p> I just got home from the Reagan Library early this morning.

I spent all day yesterday uploading pictures to the www at the Free Republic Towers in beautiful downtown Fresno (exact location guarded for security reasons.)

I'll be starting a picture thread this afternoon.

The Robinsons arrive at the Ronald Reagan Library on Saturday.

FR Security Personnel (in sunglasses left rear and under FR hat in foreground left) check area as Jim and family enter facility.

Some pictures were taken by a team of apprentices loaned to us by Dr. Zoo from The Institute of Phenomonology (MSU) such as the one That decided to embed itself in this link.

I'll be back later with more pictures and an After Action Report/Picture thread!
