Home Front Commander Yitzhak Jerry Gershon told government ministers: "The city of Nazareth asked to be disconnected from the system of air raid sirens because it interfered with them on remembrance days for IDF martyrs and on Holocaust Day."
Gershon was responding to claims that the siren didn't work in the city when it came under rocket attack in which two brothers were killed last week.

The point is to be vigilant always.
The Nazareth city fathers probably thought they were immune, since Nazareth is almost completely an Arab city. Hizballah wouldn't send rockets at fellow Arabs, would they. The city fathers forgot that Hizballah are Islamo-fascists and probably liked the idea of killing Christian Arabs, especially children.

So, how's that working for you?

Why would a city which is majority Arab care about Holocaust day?
Simple human decency?
[Do I *need* a sarcasm tag?]
I am sure there are (Muslim) Arabs who have compassion for Jews. To date, I have seen little evidence of this though.
This is an incomprehensible "news" brief. What exactly are the facts being stated?
It's a follow up.
There were three Arab children killed by a Hizbollah missle landing in Nazareth. Hizbollah has declared the victims child martyrs, as though that's a consolation.
The local Arabs blamed Israel, contending that the air raid sirens were either delayed or didn't go off at all, contributing to the deaths.
Apparently Nazareth has requested the sirens be disconnected, since they are set off twice a year, for Holocaust Remembrance Day and Independence Day, and apparently the locals don't want to hear that.
Thanks! Sad consequences of a decision wrapped in a tragic bit of spiteful aloofness.
I know, but the numbers I've seen say Nazareth is majority Muslim. I was imprecise.
