The nicest family in town that I see every 3 weeks are from South Vietnam; they love America so much but miss some family left behind and we talk about the politics and history of Vietnam for nearly an hour every few weeks.
The book Stolen Valor went a long ways to outlining some of the myths surrounding our Vietnam vets.

Of the many myths about the Vietnam War, the most prevalent is that United States lost the war. In fact, militarily, the US never lost the war. Rather, our politicians surrendered to the North Vietnamese communists.....
Today it is Dems like Murtha who would have the US 'cut & run' and surrender to the terrorists!
That's a parallel I see between Vietman & Iraq!
We need to 'Boot Murtha' and others like him who are underminding the War on Terror.

Hanois current foreign policy is based on the same premise as Goebbels statement above, and it is evident that the State Department, the Bush administration and Congress again have bought the communists lies, for they are about to reward Hanoi with Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) and an endorsement into the World Trade Organization.
I dont know if they have bought the communists lies as much as ignored them. Our esteemed leaders jump at any chance to expand our overseas markets which results in us allowing even more imports from countries using slave labor to keep the cost of manufacturing as low as possible. There is no way American workers can compete with a worker being paid an average of $.25 an hour.
I am beginning to think it is all part of the Globalization push for a One World Government.

Thanks for posting this article.
I refuse to buy anything made in Vietnam like anything made in Red China when I have an alternative.
This past week, I became aware that Vietnam is making outdoor clothing for companies like Columbia.
Communists still control Viet Nam with the same horrible authoritorian/anti human controls as in Cuba and Red China.
