"The computer is tied to a fax. In this way we can disseminate information in a few minutes to those we think will react (positively). Our job is to ensure that the arguments for our side will be the first to be expressed.

"Our work is not to verify information. We are not equipped for that. Our work is to accelerate the circulation of information favorable to us, to aim them at carefully chosen targets. We did not claim that there were death camps in Bosnia, we just made it known that Newsday claimed it."

Any questions?

Just check out the names of the photographers AP sent to cover the story: Nasser Nasser was one, and several others who were just as likely to be Hezbos as they were to be actual "photographers."

Heated denials from news agencies accused of staging images with doctored photographs

She's actually giving them too much credit. A "denial" would have to state a belief that the timestamps are correct rather than inconclusive, which is all we've heard.

A quibble: Many are saying the photos are staged, but I don't think anybody is going so far as to say that they are doctored, i.e. Photoshop tricks.

"The world was shocked to find out that a PR firm, Hill and Knowlton had manufactured the `incubator babies’ incident in Kuwait, which precipitated the Gulf War;...

Who knew? All this time I've thought that Iraq's invasion of Kuwait precipitated the Gulf War.
