This disclosure by DEBKA-Net-Weekly 264 was confirmed Friday, August 4, by Ali-Akbar Mohtashami-Pour, former Iranian ambassador to Damascus and Tehrans senior liaison with Hizballah. The acquisition of an improved Zelzal through Syria with a range of 350-400 km was behind Hassan Nasrallahs threat to bomb Tel Aviv if Beirut came under another Israel air attack.
Tel Aviv is 150 km north of Dimona and therefore well within range of the improved Zelzal missile.
The DEBKA-Net-Weekly report added: The battery consists of 16 missiles which, fired from northern or central Lebanon, can hit the Negev town of Beersheba which is some 34 km west of the nuclear center. Iran knows that a missile attack on the Dimona reactor, even if it is a direct hit, will not do much harm because the nuclear installations are buried deep underground and guarded by anti-missile defenses. But both Tehran and Hizballah are after the psychological impact on Islamic and world opinion of aiming the first Muslim missile against Israels atomic center.
Earlier, Hizballah said there would be no ceasefire until the last Israeli soldier leaves Lebanon. France submitted draft UN resolution on Lebanon
There will be an impact alright, maybe several. :)
As most people here know, Debka's reporting is somewhat questionable. If true, however, both Iran and Hezbollah should think long and hard before they fire a missle- even a non-nuclear- at the main Isreali nuclear installation. It could impact the world as we know it.
These boys won't quit until they are dead and their countries are destroyed. Look what had to be done to Germany and Japan to convince them of the error of their ways. I think it'll come down to that, and soon.
Seems like a perfect spot for a THEL system. High value and high stakes.
The hezzies are being exterminated. It's a good thing.
And a THEL is...?
The Bush administration is the time to bust this middle east thing wide open, by the time he leaves office I hope that we have drawn everyone out into the open about where they stand on Israel.
The cold war being over makes it easier to pin everyone down, maybe that is why Israel wants the Germans there, as part of an effort to make the Europeans end their coy girlish lack of clarity , and make them actually take a stand on the future.

Iran admitted for the first time on Friday that it did indeed supply long-range Zelzal-2 missiles to Hizbullah.
Secretary-general of the "Intifada conference" Mohtashami Pur told an Iranian newspaper that Iran transferred the missiles so that they could be used to defend Lebanon, Channel 1 reported.
The extent of Iran's intimate involvement in Hizbullah attacks is starting to emerge.
You know what, I think there is going to be some political posturing via the UN, fo re-arming/re-supplying (Iran/Syria), then ROUND 2 afterwards, bottom line, this is a defining moment for the Middle East and the War on Terror, as Rush said, "a gift to the world. From Israel"
