In an appearance reminiscent of his quest two years ago for the Democratic presidential nomination, Mr. Edwards, a former U.S. senator now working with an anti-poverty program in North Carolina, called for national health care, and later predicted gains in the House and Senate for his party.
"We want every single consumer in America, every person in America, to know that if they walk into a Wal-Mart, that first of all their tax dollars are subsidizing Wal-Mart employees. Their tax dollars are helping provide health care for Wal-Mart employees, because Wal-Mart's not doing it. Their tax dollars are going to provide housing and food stamps for Wal-Mart employees," Mr. Edwards told a crowd of 400 at Hill House. "What is wrong with this picture?"

He said he's in favor of national health care.
But he simultaneously said he's against using tax dollars to pay for health care for Wal Mart employees.
He is on crack?
Did his handlers staple his hair on too tight?
Gee, how about the fact that the Federal government is taking money from people who earned it, and giving it to people who did not earn it. And, now this moron wants to take more money from people to give it to people so they can have health care coverage. It's called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!!!!
"I'm happy to meet with anybody," he said, adding that "it's obvious to me what's going on ... Wal-Mart makes plenty of money. They need to pay their people well."
Says who? You Mr. Edwards. And when Wal-Mart starts forcefully paying their people better, or begins providing benefits under government coercion what do you think is going to happen to the price of goods at Wal-Mart? Do you think they will go down, up, or stay the same? If you said "Go Up", go to the head of the class! So, either way I guess I'm going to pay. The government will either take my money through taxes and subsidize their health care, or the government will take my money by forcing Wal-Mart to raise wages or provide benefits, and thus increasing the cost of the goods I buy.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, your Federal government at work for you.
No, idiot, my hard-earned money that I CHOOSE to spend at Wal-Mart in return for the service they provide me is what Wal-Mart uses to compensate their workers in pay and benefits.
Who is John Edwards? That's easy: some baby-channeling shyster who's still applying soothing balm because of the asskicking he received from Dick Cheney.
(john kerry's butt boy) john edwards, the demonrat's waaamulance chaser hates people who provide jobs. per john edwards, walmart has to be sued to save America.
Here in Wisconsin I just laugh at the idiots Democrats in Madison who created a state-funded health plan for low-income workers and are screaming bloody murder when those low income workers from businesses like Wal Mart apply for and receive benefits! Well, Hells Bells, what did they expect?
Edwards will make fans here in the Chicago area, with an anti-Wal Mart stance! (rolling my eyes.......)
It's Saturday..............so this must be a WalMart Ping!!!!
Thank God this POS socialist is not in the White House.
I think the most important point these libs miss is the fact that just about any job in retail below management level can be handled by 16-yo's.
Full disclosure here: my wife and 16-yo son are both Wal-Martians, AND work in the same department (housewares) doing the same jobs. Wife makes $10, son makes $7, everybody's happy...
My wife is a senior RN with a Family Practice Group. They have a mix of Walmart patients. Many retired people are very happy to work for Walmart a few hours a day or a few days per week. Some have been with the store since it opened.
Other full time people have good health care, often better than some of the various hospital employees, teacher plans and other group plans around this area.
The dirty reality is the little boutique/high priced stores which are predominantly owned by liberals never have health insurance for their employees. That includes the high price/poor service ones which went out of business when Walmart and Target finally got open stores here.
Walmart is very important to other patients in their practice with their low over the counter prices. When RX products like Zantac, Tagamet, Claritin and others go off of RX and become over the counter, patients with RX coverage plans, discover the product is no longer covered by their plans. In the 4-5 years the Walmart has been opened here, they consistantly have the lowest price in town on the over the counter meds which had been Rx before.
I have dry eyes and dry mouth, inherited from both of my parents. I use a minimal of a bottle of Biotene for my dry mouth and Complete Moisture drops per week. I save $2 to as high as $4/per bottle on both of the products by buying them at Walmart. Good brand name sun blockers for us and our grandkids cost anywhere from $2-4 less for the same size brand at other stores.
Is there even ONE new Dimowit that's thinking of running in 2008? LOL! They seem to be stuck in some sort or endless-loop feed...Kerry, Algore, Breck Girl, The Beast...repeat...repeat...repeat. Oh, I guess we can throw Feingold in there! He hasn't spoken of Wal-Mart one way or the other yet, but he LOVES socialized medicine. *Rolleyes*
I fear for this country. I really do.
Include "Musinex" (over the counter) Wal-Mart $8.68. Wal-Green $12.69. C.V.S. $12 and change.

I just let my wife know about Musinex savings at Walmart. She said thanks for confirming that Musinex is still at a lower price at Walmart.
