Ping to me!
Is - http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/afp/20060806/capt.sge.cfo60.060806160927.photo06.photo.default-512x341.jpg - the native Yahoo/Reuters location for their published pics, or someone else's storage space?
I think we should take your suggestion a step further: We need an annual awards ceremony to bestow some sort of snotty statuette on the news organization and/or reporter who produced the most outrageous and obvious fake news of the year.
Sorry for screaming, but I'm furious. The is the "great" Reuters, for cripes sake. The great, unbiased newswire service. Sending out fake photos to the world.
The next time some so-called journalist on TV or in the print media tries to mock the Internet, I'm going to projectile vomit. Hey print "journalists," hey ABC, NBC, CBS, et al., hey AP and Reuters, the Internet is the only place true investigative journalism takes place these days.
Thanks for ping and article. What a frigging excuse for a news organization - Al Reuters.
Thanks for the ping. I hope someone gets canned over this, but I'm not holding my breath.
I have no idea why he did it. But, the fact that he did do it should trouble us all.
How do we know that the "accurate" one is not just a prior version of the original doctored photo? Say their were 10 evolutions of the original photo leading to the one that was published and that the so called "accurate" one is one of the 9 evolutions?
The problem this poses is that without a detailed explanation of what happened, all photo;s are now suspect.
You have a Director´s touch :)
You caught that "little" "let's just sweep this under the carpet and keep it in the family" too, eh?
See www.mrc.org for their annual bias awards.
There is something more important. That pacifier and chain are too heavy for the shirt and too long for the child. No parent would attach such a long and heavy object to the front of a shirt so that it not only pulls the shirt half off, it is so long it would bang against the childs legs. And even if the parent did this, no child I raised would tolerate this pulling his shirt down. He would rip it off or cry until it was removed.
Probably picked up by Hezbo or Al Jazeera by now to instruct their own staff;)
..not prominent, like Mel Gibson's arrest :^
...but a line that says Reuters is pulling it...
I just got home and catching up on my Pings and saw this one...I am totally and adamantly upset over this!! THANK YOU LORD FOR THE INTERNET...it has been a saving grace!! I LOATHE THE MEDIAWHORES and it's presstitutes!!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ahahahhaha ..Just spit out my coffee ..Tooo funny
"That pacifier and chain are too heavy for the shirt and too long for the child."
Also this baby is reported to be 9 or 10 months old--crawling age. This pacifier would be constantly dragging in the dirt and should definitely show signs of wear.
Yup. It jumped right out of the page ;-)
Yes, you did! Good job.
That is one great idea. Call it the annual Rather Biased Award
I fail to see the humor in this tragedy!
Thanks, fag, but I was speaking of the 'Photo Kill' graphic, not the original pic that was the subject of the Photo Kill. Or are you pointing out that the Yahoo piz reside on news.yahoo.com, rather than http://d.yimg.com/ ?
To that level, no, that's doctoring. I was talking about fixing, not changing. It's what people used to do in the darkroom when developing, now it's digital.
Put these photos in the proper time sequence:
The sequence starts with a pristine pacifier and clean hands. It ends with dusty hands and pacifier...
The binky is in a bunch of photos of the child, which would argue against a photoshop.
Yep. See post #380
Hi, Truth. They finally started a thread around noon. And, guess what,
Conservatives are responsible for doctored photos!! Yes, it's true. I hope you feel properly admonished.
I won't post the link, so as not to sully our site. You can find it at DU under latest threads.
Begin of cited material from DU:
"What the doctored Reuters photos tell us... about ourselves".
"The photos were doctored not by some political agenda, but for one simple reason: sensationalism sells."....
"Finally someone gets to the root.....of the matter. It [doctoring of the photos] was driven by sensationalism. That in turn is driven by greed which is a cornerstone of, and virtue within, conservative philosophy."
End of cited material.
You can file this under - The Difference Between Reality and Insanity.
Wow... thanks for the old picture and caption... It shows that some organizations already hated the US from long... And that is before they're bought by the Arabs...
No kidding. I think we're seeing the result of them getting complacent & lazy. They can "fix" stills quickly now. In future, we're gonna have to te on our toes to catch them in the act.
I kid you NOT!
As long as they keep on doing that, they will never win power un another federal election.
Lets encourage their alternate reality, which, BTW the majority of Americans have no capacity to share.
I can hardly wait to see Rush Limbaugh's Monday statements on AP's photodoctoring, sure to amuse most and enrage the spin doctors even further.
Talk about caught with their pants down, the Emperor has no clothes at all!
Al Jezzera has become the model for AP and Reuters, and not only that, they tour Lebanon only at the supervision of Hezbollah, as admitted last week. The government of Lebanon has suffered a coupe, this tells me.
There's at least one more photo of the babe... I think it's in the pair of photos, Green Helmet & Striped Shirt. Green Helmet has the babe by his chest & the binky is dangling by the babe's side.
Here is another ping.
I'll be out of town next week, so won't check FR until Friday PM.
"I kid you NOT!"
No need to add disclaimers. I believe *you* that the left is imploding;)
Besides, maybe some of those "libs" are conservatives who infiltrated leftwing blogs and are seeding them with tinfoil hat Rove bombs....
Any mention of the Reuter's employee/non-employee death threat?
Are pictures 1 and 3 supposed to be the same kid in the same place? If so, what is up with the difference in the floor material? And what is the guy in the back leaning on in picture 3?
More incisive than you intended
