Iran's 'supreme leader' Khamenei tells country to brace for war
In the first such order, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has directed its more than 300,000 troops to prepare for a confrontation with Israel and the United States. IRGC has directed and participated in the Hizbullah war against Israel. "Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards and Basij should prepare themselves to get even with Zionists and Americans," IRGC commander Maj. Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi said. "The supreme leader [Ali Khamenei] will announce the time for this."

So WWIV official starts on Aug 22 now?
Well, Let's not keep them waiting!!!...
I'm changing my sig.
bump for late read
The good news is that we don't need another "Hearts and Minds" war. "Shock and Awe" will do.
Iran should know that our politicians in D.C. haven't the testicular fortitude for another war.
My tagline says everything for me.
"Revolutionary Guards and Basij should prepare themselves to get even with Zionists and Americans"
Even as in flat!
Oh great. I suppose we will begin seeing video of parading women in Burka's holding wooden AK-47's on the news now. And the regular parading goose-stepping troops are also good for a laugh.
Max: Rachel, you know you like me. Think of the way you looked at me across the table last Shabbos !
Rachel: Yes, Max. It's true. I do like you. You are smart, handsome, studious, and my Father says you are a brave young IDF trooper.
Max: So then... Rachel, will you finally agree to a date with me? May I take you for Ice cream and a movie tonight?
Rachel: Are you crazy, Max? The supreme leader of Iran has just announced that we are on the verge of a great war! Israel will be attacked! The Islamic countries will present a united front to end the life of Israel - and our very lives - once and for all! All IDF troops will be called up to defend our nation and beat back islamofascist tyranny! And it's all going to start tonight!
Max: Hmmm. I suppose that's right. How about tomorrow night?
"Iran should know that our politicians in D.C. haven't the testicular fortitude for another war."
Thry don't have the balls for the war we're in now, much less with Iran.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
They'd better be careful about the whole 'getting even' gig. Israel has a bone to pick for their open support of Hezbollah. We still have a score to settle over the '79 Hostage Crisis.
tacit admission that Iran is behind a plot?
AMEN AND LET GOD SORT IT OUT BUMP!
Let's just hope these pricks have the stones to wear uniforms...................
"Iran should know that our politicians in D.C. haven't the testicular fortitude for another war."
I think they already know this. That is why they are doing this.
Sometimes "madmen" leave you no options.
That's the same mistake the Japs made before they attacked Pearl Harbor.
I have no doubt that Iran is and has been plotting for a long time now. Ominous feelings are still sending shivers down my spine.
What is the signifigance of Aug 22nd? Is it a holiday for them, or was that date chosen at random by Iwannajihad?
bttt
Any serious provocation will only galvanize the majority of this country, marginalize the Dem fringe peace-niks, and seal the Iranian's regime's fate.
Draw Iran's 300,000 troops into Iraq's desert and cut off all supplies to them. They'll starve to death in a matter of weeks.
It's just as true today as it was a 1000 years ago- an army moves on it's belly. Saddam also ran into that problem when he tried to invade Kwait. His retreating army ran out of supplies. The highway of death was like shooting fish in a barrel.
I think the real translation was: Kiss Your *sses Goodbye
Sort of makes you wonder whether we went into Iraq for a stable Iraq or we went into Iraq on the premise that we will soon be marching on Iran.
Doesn't hurt that we also have a coalition of forces in Afghanistan which also borders Iran.
Is is possible that everyone overlooked this point?
Supposedly, it was the day Mohammed flew to heaven and back on a winged horse. If they believe this, they're delusional enough to believe they can defeat us in combat. They'd be wrong in both instances.
Yes, it's the end of the world... again.
What if they kamikaze raid SE Iraq to try and overrun our bases, using WMD on the troops wherever concentrated. I believe we fared badly in simulations when they used silworms against our ships in the gulf.
Just what ifs - I hope our planners have nasty - real nasty - packages prepared to fend off and slap back iranian assaults against our troops in region.
This all gets uglier if the iraqi shiia are involved and go hezbollah on us.
I need another coffee. Maybe it will all just go away. Or maybe we can vaporize ahmedinajihaad first.
The Islamofascists are confusing restraint with weakness. They are misunderestimating us. Its best that we deal with this menace sooner rather than later.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.
See Joel Rosenberg's article in today's National Review Online for more.
It's supposedly the date - Muslim calendar? - that Mad Mo rode his horse into hell.... errr heaven.
We probably thought we'd have more stability in Iraq at this point. To answer your question, I do believe we were looking down the road at dealing with Iran. I am not sure we thought it would be this soon, however. No matter....we can still handle them.
It only gets more complicated and interesting if N. Korea or China decides to pull a stunt in that part of the world while we deal with Iran.
"In the first such order, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has directed its more than 300,000 troops to prepare for a confrontation with Israel and the United States."
Doesn't surprise me at all. Them folks like numbers, and there are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet...
How reliable is a news site with a shaking hourly gift gif? Not that there is anything wrong with that....
Or they're planning something that they think will force us to their gates.
Like Linus waits every Halloween eve in a pumpkin patch for 'the Great Pumpkin" to appear, I suspect these sicko Iranian Mullah's think the great Mahdi will crawl out of a well on Aug 22, signaling the time to start their war. I suspect iran will try to close the shipping lanes, and we suspect they will try, which is why on Aug 21 there won't be a rowboat left in Iran without a hole shot in it.
Speaking of N. Korea, has KJI been seen lately? Wonder if he's ever been out of the public eye this long.
Aug 22.
1. On 8/10 (today) Iran's supreme leader Khamaeni has told his country to prepare for war with Israel and the US.
2. On multiple occasions in the last two months Ahmadinejad has said that he will respond to the UN's request to end its nuclear program on Aug 22 (Aug 22 is the anniversary of mohammed's night flight where he supposedly went from saudi arabia to jerusalem to heaven and back again).
3. Ahmadinejad promised last year to "wipe Israel off the map."
4. Bernard Lewis, Princeton Prof of Middle Eastern History (and considered the foremost expert on the subject in the US if not the world) is worried

5. Ahmadinejad and Khameni believe that it is necessary to bring about the Islamic version of armageddon to bring the return of the "hidden imam"
6. A and K believe that the time is ripe for the return of said hidden imam.
I like your tagline.
I just hope it doesn't interfere with the season priemere of "prison break".
He's probably busy torturing and shooting staff members for the embarrassing failure of his Taepo-Dong missile in front of his clients (Iran) and the world.
So, does this count as an imminent threat? Or do the antiwar nutjobs consider it imminent only when you can feel the attacker driving the point of the knife into your body.
The Bassij are a bunch of thugs accustomed to terrorizing unarmed people. It would do them a world of good to run into somebody who shoots back. Popcorn, anyone?
I doubt the US would be so supportive of Israel in the present conflict without realizing it could easily turn into a regional conflict involving Syria and Iran. To me this meant the US was ready for war with Iran and Syria. Such a war is inevitable, and the sooner we engage in it, the better. Time is on the side of the Islamo-Fascists running Iran.
