I didn't see mention in the article of whether adult or embryonic stem cells were used...but i kind of skimmed it and could have missed it.

Some newer treatments like stem cell transplants.....

this sentence led me to believe it was from an adult human donor as they do with cancers. I try to read these articles twice before I post them to make sure the article mentions adult stem cells. I've noticed some reporters don't want to use the words "fetal" or "embryonic" in their articles when those stem cells are used.

It sounds like an autologous stem cell transplant to me. This is a treatment that is used sometimes for cancer patients whose disease has relapsed after initial remission. It involves taking the patient's own stem cells from their bone marrow, then giving them back to the patient after undergoing powerful chemotherapy.

If the stem cells come from another person, then it is called an allogenic stem cell transplant. So these are adult stem cells we're talking about.

The only reason I know about this is because my wife has lymphoma, and a stem cell transplant may be one of the treatment options in her future.
