Perhaps if she spoke in Spanish, the anti-borders, anti-"vigilante", anti-deportation, anti-anyone who dares criticizes Bush" crowd, might comprende?

Opposing Jim and Tammy Faye Baker did not equate to Satanism. Asking "Where's the fence?" does not equate to speaking Spanish.

Look at the people posting to these threads. They are nearly all folks who suffer from cognitive dissonance when it comes to President Bush who have wanted the Minutemen to fail from the start. An extremely disingenuous bunch.

That's crap. I am pro-enforcing the borders, disagree with the President, but don't post often on these threads. Stick to the issues and stop attacking people for their motives. But let's say you are correct - who cares - there are many people watching these threads to see what happens - neutral people, people who DO care, people who WOULD donate.

The Minutemen (and their supporters here) cannot expect a pass because they're on the same side.

What many of these posters have done is follow the very complex/convoluted situation, and found things that seem unorthodox. I commend them, and condemn posters who attack them for their questions, STILL unanswered.

who have wanted the Minutemen to fail from the start.

But who are "the Minutemen?" There's the Gilchrist group at minutemanproject.com (founded Oct., 2004), the Alan Keyes/Simcox group at minutemanhq.com (founded 2005), and a bunch of other smaller groups all around the country. Apparently, no one owns the name.

Most of the crabbing here is about the Keyes/Simcox group, whose claim to fame is building a border fence. They've raised tons of money, but there's no fence. What there is, is a PR offensive calling anyone who asks, "Where's the fence?" a bunch of names. Meanwhile, they won't tell anyone what happened to the money. The groups patrolling the border say they aren't seeing it. The only "fence" Simcox has built is 2.2 miles of livestock fencing for a rancher. That fence cost less than $10K. Where's the rest of the million?

If you go to their web site, they tell you "The Minuteman Border Fence is already making a difference." The Hell it is... there is no Minuteman Border Fence. Here is what there is... a frigging livestock fence. It's five strands of barbed wire strung across 14-foot poles. The poles made a great press release ("Gaza-style 14-foot fence!") but it was a sham. Now we find out the fence doesn't even stop cows.

Calling BS on this is not the same thing as attacking "the Minutemen." There are multiple "Minuteman" organizations. Only one of them took donations to build a fence, and now can't explain where a million dollars went. The only thing we know for sure is that they haven't spent it on a fence.
