Aircraft should be equipped with a passenger ejection system; act up, and the passengers eject you from the plane in mid air.
Without a parachute.

Take it slow before judging.
For example the federal director guy might have simply received bad info, and passed it along as best he knew. That still indicates a problem somewhere in the information chain, just means it might not be with him specifically.

I fly out of Heathrow at least once a year and I would agree - security there does not seem as thorough as in other places in Europe (CDG in Paris for instance).
Although, at least on United flights, there has been secondary screening in place at the gates, since before these planned terrorist attacks.

So much for George Naccara, federal security director for the Transportation Security Administration for Massachusetts Airports, who yesterday, told AP, she wasn't carrying any of these items (and flat out lied), when, in fact, she was: The authorities denied that Charles Bishop/Bishra committed an act of terrorism when he stole a plane and crashed it into a bank but that is what his suicide note (released 4 months later) said (and he praised Bin Laden in the second paragraph).
And didn't Moose deny terrorism early in the DC sniper case?
The authorities have lied before. This is not to say they always lie. It is just to mean that a denial means nothing.

I read on another thread the flight originated in Dubai, and she may have even gotten to Dubai from Pakistan. She was a 59 yo woman reporter who had lived in Pakistan for awhile. She had initially gone there (based on her own statements) to me a Pakistani whom she'd come to know over the Internet.
This woman seemed pretty whacked out. Whether from drugs (or their absence when she really needed them) is not known.

The latest report that I heard was she is from Vermont, 60 yrs old and urinated all over herself during the flight. That came from FoxNews in the last hour.

I sat next to a crazy lady once on a flight from Dallas to Chicago. She ranted and raved the whole way about the most trivial items. She criticized every little thing and drove me nuts.
Thank god we later got divorced.

Car alarm remotes aren't even allowed? There is NO way travelers will forfeit those.

If she originated somewhere else and didn't leave the secure area during her transfer at Heathrow I don't see how the Brits are to blame here. Find out where she originated and there's your security problem.

Why does this seam like a set-up/plant by the libs to me?
Libs wanting to prove we aren't safe right after the huge bust in London?
The port scare on the same day just hours after a liberal politician is on TV complaining about the ports?
Just too many coinky dinkys...(removing the tinfoil hat now)

It has also been discovered that she has traveled extensively in Pakistan, has denounced the Bush administration publicly using moonbat terminology, and that she initially traveled to Pakistan to wed a Muslim man she met on the internet.
She is just as disturbed and in precisely the same way as Richard Reid.

I suspect she probably had a note from her doctor authorizing her to carry a screwdriver at all times. From everything I have read about her she had more than a few screws loose.

I wouldn't be suprised that fifty years from now we'll find that Dubya
and Co. are operating under Churchill's old dictum:
"In times of war, Truth is so precious that She must be protected by
A Bodyguard of Lies" (my imperfect recollection of the quote).
We're going to be fed a lot of deceit by our guvmint officials for
the duration of this war. The guvmint will put out lies as dis-information for
the terrorists, as well as to shield the public from hazy possible threats
(that would otherwise cause our economy and society to collapse).
Just like with WWII and the Cold War...we have to win.
If only so that we can be old geezers, watching The History Channel's
slew of documentaries of "Now It Can Be Told: The Truth of The War On Terror"
I can't wait to see a full listing of the captured cell-phone records
of terrorists like Zarqawi, Osama and the like.
And how much over-charges they had to pay in calls to some of our neighbors
in the USA.
