Muslim doctor wants apology from U.S. airline [booted for praying]

A Winnipeg doctor is demanding an official apology and compensation from United Airlines after being kicked off a flight in the U.S. this week, an incident he has characterized as "institutionalized discrimination." Dr. Ahmed Farooq, a Muslim, was escorted off an airplane in Denver on Tuesday. According to Farooq, reciting his evening prayers was interpreted by one passenger as an activity that was suspicious.

"The whole situation is just really frustrating," Farooq said. "It makes you uneasy, because you realize you have to essentially watch every single thing you say and do, and it's worse for people who are of colour, who are identifiable as a minority."

Farooq said the allegation came from a passenger who appeared drunk and had previously threatened him during the trip.

Misinterpretation!
The fall-back defense Islam loves.
Ok- so the sacred Koran, written in a more barbaric age, is being MISinterpreted in 2006.
Would it not be logical, then, to have a REVISED version of the Koran which CORRECTLY interprets the parts those pesky terrorists are using to 'hijack' the 'religion'?
Why is the misinterpretation being allowed?
All the world needs is the Koranic New Testament, in which all doubt about it's true beliefs and rules are erased once and for all. Wouldn't that deprive the nasty Islamofacists of the permission they say they have?
So what's more important? The continuation of a kind, benevolent religion that is being 'misinterpreted', or the translation of the Koran?

"I know who the enemy is."

And we fight our war with our hands tied behind our back trying to keep from offending sensiblities.

The problem is, islam is irrecoverable as a religion. I am not alone in this view. I have read enough about islam that I think it's more than a Dark Age. There are 1.5 billion muslims in the world. Not all of them are evil. It's impossible to have 1.5 billion evil people.

But, with taqiyya and some of the other nice features of islam, it's impossible to tell good from bad in the muslim world. This is a bigger war than you think. It's not just Iraq. It's islam versus everyone else.

If this guy wants an apology, here should shiite in one hand and wish for the apology in the other, and see which one fills up first.

When I pray on a plane....and I have prayed on a plane...

...I sit quietly, with my eyes closed and pray quietly, soundlessly.

So what was he doing to draw attention to himself....???(I think I can guess)

Do you honestly believe that if a new, and improved Koran was written, the Islamic extremists would have a change of heart? You have GOT to be kidding. That has to be the most ridiculous idea I've heard in ages.

You just made my blood run cold.
What cosmic law limits the number of evil people that can exist?
We'd best not be imposing limits on evil because it makes us comfortable to do so.
1.5 billion evil people on the planet may be too small a number to imagine, not too large.

Again, you CHOOSE to ignore it. Thousands of muslim leaders are offended by the perversion of Islam to promote violence.

Thousands of Germans were offended by the Nazis but it didn't matter. Millions died. What is the reality of the situation? The Nazis ruled just like the Islamonuts are the power in Islam right now.

The jerk knows he will taunt people with his "prayers" and then when people react in the proper way, which is: "What kind of freak does prayers in the airplane hallway?" he'll decide to be ultra-victim-number-one including the usual buzzwords; i.e., "person of colour".

This guy was purposely trying to make a scene just like the Syrian "musicians" doing the dry run bathroom deal in the plane. Remember that? Now connect it to the liquid controversy. Uh huh.

Yeah, cause white Christians NEVER commit 99.999999999999999% of the acts of terrorism, right? THAT'S MORE ACCURATE!

Ha! Welcome to the US of A created by the Politically Correct Police of the Liberal Left, Mr. Farooq.

Banging your frontal lobe on the floor five times a day has to be part of the problem. The Frontal lobes have been found to play a part in impulse control, judgment, language, memory, motor function, problem solving, sexual behavior, socialization and spontaneity. Frontal lobes assist in planning, coordinating, controlling and executing behavior. People that have damaged frontal lobes may experience problems with these aspects of cognitive function, being at times impulsive; impaired in their ability to plan and execute complex sequences of actions; perhaps persisting with one course of action or pattern of behavior when a change would be appropriate

How do we know that this is not a part of a larger program to overwhelm our media with stories of politically incorrect reactions to "innocent" Muslims going about their normal activities.

This could be a sort of "Breathing While Muslim" psychosis to prey on liberal media guilt.

Again? I dont recall what my first pointless observation was. I was just making an observation, pointless or not. Tim McVeigh wasnt "sick". He was a madman.

And I didnt post to you, as you will note, if you trace back to my post. I posted to someone entirely different.

Ah I see where I had posted to you.

Youre not making any sense here though. Im just stating the facts. Many people wont know the difference between a christian liturgy, and a muslim prayer.

Im not taking a swipe against people who mmistrust muslims, Im making a point about pointless jitteriness, and its ill effects.

I know you grasp this, but some here apparently do not: Islam is not only not a "religion of peace", but it's not so much a religion as a criminal enterprise founded by a psycopath bent on conquest -- of territory and babes.

Mohammed has more in common with Tony Soprano than he does with Jesus.

Ridiculous,eh? How is it ridiculous for a 'hijacked religion' to CLARIFY what it's dogma is, in clear and uncertain terms, especially when it is so WIDELY being 'misinterpreted'? Peaceful coexistence isn't worth a little editing and rewriting?
Would any sane being rather see all this death and destruction if a TRUE INTERPRETATION could end it?
It would also officially and cleanly marginalize the 'terrorists', wouldn't it? Of course they would hold to the 'old interpretation' and follow clerics who espouse it, leaving the 'majority, good Muslims' proudly standing up for the New Islam. The one no one can misinterpret.
But- that can never happen can it? Instead, the words being 'misinterpreted' are themselves revered as holy and unchangeable- much more important than depriving the 'terrorists' of the Koranic permission they claim.

Because Islam is ONE when it comes to the hatred for non-Islamics and the goal of an Islamic world. The Koran cannot be changed, or altered, or reinterpreted by Islamic law. And if it is- Muslims will kill the apostates who do it.
The fanatically desperate desire to separate Islam, as it is now perceived by the world, from the Koran is astounding.
Does ANY other religion in the world demand that it not be judged by it's own scriptures?
The Koran isn't being misinterpreted at all. Even the so-called 'good Muslims' know that. If it were , they should be the first people screaming for reform and exoneration by making a CLEAR, definite move to define Islam properly. They choose to suffer prejudice and suspicion instead??

You know as well as I that 'good' Islam would have no problem at all if these 'terrorists' succeed in conquering the world for Islam.
And I never 'kid' about millions of people who subscribe to a belief system that says I should submit or die.
