Lynn Cheney: Condi Rice for President?

The idea of a woman president is not so abstract now that the 2008 election nears, Lynne Cheney, wife of vice president Dick Cheney said Wednesday.

"If you're thinking of Condi Rice, I think she has good credentials," Cheney said.

During an appearance sponsored by the Aspen Institute, Cheney talked mostly about education and history but did venture into current politics, including the possibility of women running for president. She did not mention New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, widely thought to be considering a presidential run in 2008.

"(National security) is the driving issue," Cheney said. "The stereotype exists that women are softer. Maybe it's not true. I don't think it's true. But it's a little bit of a challenge to overcome for a woman president."

Besides that, Allen may have done himself in. McCain can't be trusted. Rudi may have too much baggage and is pro choice too. Maybe there's something I don't know about the guy (and I'm withholding final judgement), but I'm not sure if Huckabee is qualified for the job right now (unless I'm missing something...I don't see how being a Baptist preacher and the Governor of a small state qualifies you to be the leader of the free world. But, I haven't really heard his full bio. Maybe there's something I don't know about).

Who's left whose name is on the table besides Newt?

But they did, under Bubba. Surely, you haven't forgotten Ms. Albright?

She was a woman!!! Yikes. I thought she was a troll.

Newt/Condi or Condi/ Newt doesn't matter to me as long as Condi looks after defense and foreign policy and Newt looks after domestic and future policy.

The combination and a working portfolio for the VP is unbeatable.

Even the clinton co presidency doesn't begin to have the sheer brain power.

No co presidency you say? That's what the Clintons are aiming for.

How a bout a Clinton/clinton ticket....... Barf

I agree. Let Lynne and Laura get together and convince Condi. Let Colin Powell run for VP.

I don't know if Colin Powell would go for that. I think he'd want Condi Rice under him.

Patience please. Just because events don't meet your personal expedited time line doesn't mean we are not succeeding.

Why do you want a member(Condoleeza Rice) of an internationalist organization (CFR), known to be promoting the dissolution of our borders to create the North American Union, anywhere near a public office?
